I have never been there, so I am trying to find some more info from people who have been there before.
:confused3

We were there last Sept and didn't think much of it. BUT I just read on the boards that the chef from LeCellier moved over there in which case it might be worth another try!!! The atmosphere was ok.

We really liked it and went there the last 2 years. I love the blackened catfish with grits. We also had a great service from the same waiter 2 years in a row. If you have kids, my 6 year old DD really enjoyed watching the fish and the divers in the aquariam.

recently, like the past 3 ish years... I know that Coral Reef has not been reviewed well over all. some people get lucky.

we ate there in october and loved it!

DH and i sat up against the aquarium (cool, but next time i'd prefer a tier up for a better panorama view) - DH had steak (which he said was pretty good) and i had the pasta with shrimp (and there were plenty of shrimp! i was expecting maybe 4 or 5 but there were much more than that!)

dessert was great - the chocolate wave and some jack daniels 3 layered chocolate thingie (don't remember what it was called)

yes, go there and enjoy!

It was one of the best meals of our trip last June. The catfish with cheesy grits and lobster bisque are delicious. We had excellent service and the view is gorgeous.

we ate there last sept for lunch, and are planning on doing it again this sept for lunc-- unless i find some other ADR that i want instead:) It was good-- i got the steak i am not a big seafood person, but the atmosphere was very nice, it took us a while to be seated, but we were there during free dinning and it was sort of hetic. The food was good-- not fantastic-- but it's a place we will go back too:)

We went to the Coral Reef in Jan of last year, there were 7 of us and none of us were overally impressed with the menu.:sad2:

We have eaten lunch twice at Coral Reef and have enjoyed it both times. Nice atmosphere and great lunch choices.

We go every year -one of our favs. But then again, our dd loves aquariums so it's a no brainer for us. We've always had good food - sometimes not great service but for the most part good service. We always request the second tier of seating - great view of the tank. We always have a great time at Coral Reef.

We were there in Dec 06 and it was OK. Everything was good except for my entree which was a shrimp and pasta dish that is no longer on the menu.

I am glad we went to experience the atmosphere but we probably will not go back. I would say go once for the experience and judge for yourself. Remember, everyone has different taste, etc.

HTH!

I really enjoyed it....I was 1 table in from the glass....so that helped.

I would definately go back.

Yes. We dined there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The only complaint was that we had to wait 40 minutes past our ADR time for our table.

I had lunch there during free dining in August of 2006. We thought it was just as good as Le Celier. My 16 year old brother had the lobster soup(which he loved so much he wouldn't even let me taste) and the steak. I has the shrimp cocktail, steak, and the chocolate wave. Absolutely decadent lunch. My 4 year old was 2 at the time and shared with us. I would absolutely go back except the kids menu is horrible for my son. He is now 4 and would love steak. The kids menu offers pizza, fish, mac & cheese, and grilled chicken. This is great for some kids, but mine is the only kid that isn't thrilled with pasta or pizza. The fish and the grilled chicken will be hit or miss. I think the problem is that the adults would get steak and king crab legs (which happen to be his favorite meals) He would end up eating my dish and I would be stuck eating the kids meal. The kids meals should have steak for an added fee (like Le Celier.) Narcoosees serves a filet for the kids for $13.

I had lunch there last week. I had the mahi mahi fish and the baileys and JD mousse. both were delicious. I asked for a table near the tank but the restuarant is layered so every tabl can see the water. The fish sharks and turtles were great to watch and no matter how the food was this would have been good. That said the food was great. There was wonderful bread to start with and the waiting staff where super.

We just returned from our Disney vacation on May 2,2008. We ate at the Coral Reef & thought it was great. My husband had their steak & it was the best I have ever tasted. The service was wonderful & we loved the atmosphere with the aquarium. It was very busy. We were on the Dining Plan and had advance reservations we waited about 20 minutes past our reservation time.:rotfl: :lovestruc

I went thru the Dining Review forum looking for people that had eaten there - and they posted pictures and opinions -

I decided to give it a try for our trip in October!!
