Thanks for posting, we have an ADR for Coral Reef in August and are very excited. I have a question though. What does catfish taste like?? I like to try new things and this is something I've wanted to try for some time.
Catfish is one of the best fish you will find in the South. It really doesn't have what I call a 'fishy' or a real 'seafood' taste. I don't know how to describe it but we love it. The catfish at the Coral Reef was fairly thick, seasoned just right and then blackened. At our house, we blacken our meats by getting a black iron skillet really hot, place your meat in the skillet and then bake it. It makes a slight crust on the fish but the inside is still juicy and yummy!
Now the catfish at the Garden Grill isn't my favorite. In Louisiana, we fry our catfish in a cornmeal and flour batter and in Florida it just tastes different that we do it at home. It's not bad, it's just not the same.
I would definitely recommend that you try the blackened catfish at the Garden Grill! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
