Coral Reef Restaurant - Diver/menu - Discontinued for 2009

Debbi got back to me and I am sooo sooo excited we are all set up for our dinner with menu and diver... what a great great experience.. I am so happy... she is a great CM!!!!!!

I'm wondering if anyone has a picture or scan of what these look like. Do you get to take the menu home? I'm going to do this for my mom's birthday present this year and I just wanted to get an idea of what it looks like so I know what kind of pics I want to send.

Thanks!

We just got back and did this Saturday night. They gave me the menu and I gave it to my Mom. She did get to take it home, it was really cute with the photos and message on one side and the menu on the other. Shortly after being seated the diver swam over and held the sign. He was there long enough for us to get a picture. Mine didn't come out good but my dd's did. Once we load her pics I can post one. They then brought my Mom over the sign the diver had held and she got to keep that too. When it was time for dessert they stuck a chocolate piece that said Happy Birthday on it in her dessert too.

It was a nice suprise for her and worked out well!

Debbi got back with me too for our September trip. Do you think there is any hurry in sending her the pics? I don't have enough that will do, and am hoping to get some old photos of my parents ( its their 50th anniversary)!!

I hope there isn't a hurry... I am going to do this for my friend and her family as it is going to be their first trip. I have already heard back from Debbi, but I don't have pics to send her yet. My friend's birthday is the 30th of this month and she is getting a digital camera... I asked her to send me some pics (she has no idea why.. and she would never guess this!!!)

BTW.. I noticed our trip dates are close... what day you doing Coral Reef?

I just sent Debbi a email with pictures for the personalized menu and a message for the diver sign. We will be at the Coral Reef in May for lunch. I am so excited to see the look on my hubby's face when he realizes what is going on. Debbi is really easy to work with.:woohoo:

Just wanted to say that I love these boards!!!! I have learned so much for our upcoming trip. Thanks!!!

If you have this planned, you're in for a treat! Here are some pictures of my experience earlier this month. It is the best memory of our trip! Have fun!

That is so awesome. I can't wait to suprise mom with this one. Last year I teased her for 5 months not telling her I was taking her to Disney for her birthday. Now I have 7 months to build her anticipation for this one.

I just sent Debbi my menu stuff. Pics and some of the lyrics to the song we danced to at our wedding. DH is gonna be really surprised! I cant wait until Aug 7th at 5pm! Also, she got back to me and told me that she really like the pics and that she got the email OK. So if you send her an email, just be sure to include that you want her to email you back so you know she got the email ok. And she will email you back. I sent her the email this afternoon and got a reply back from her a couple hrs later. :thumbsup2

I'm now set up for a diver to surprise my boys when we eat there in August. I am so excited...they have no idea! We are not really there celebrating anything per se so I just asked them to say hi on the sign to my guys & Debbi said no problem at all. Than she told me to send some photos & they would make a menu for them! How awesome is that??

I asked Debbi how much time she needed to get the photos & she said four or five days before. I think that gives PLENTY of time to find some great shots & send them to her.

Princessreilly, that menu that they made for your husband looks awesome!!

I really want to do this for my husband (our anniversary) and something special for my kids. Can someone please post pictures of your menus. Thanks

I was able to arrange both for our Christmas 07 trip. At that time the diver was free. (They weren't scheduling him after December because changes were supposed to be made - not sure what they are or if they are still doing the diver.) He bascially held up a white sheet of paper with our typed message (clear font, nothing fancy). It was really cool ... unfortunately I was so excited about it (it was a surprise for everyone else in the group) that the camera shook and the picture didn't turn out.

As for the menu, I contacted Coral Reef and was instructed to send photos to an email address once they confirmed my reservation etc. It was just the regular menu with the inside front cover being personalized with our names and pictures. Again reallly neat ... my dad still talks about that part of the trip to anyone who will listen!

I didnt take a pic of the menu.. although the pics of my son I emailed in never made it in a menu. It was just a pic of ariels dad.

Here is a pic of the sign and cake I ordered.

I have reserved the diver and requested the menu for my Birthday this Summer.I assume I will need to sit at a table by the tank in order to see the diver and sign.Do I need to request a table by the tank when I check in or will they already know I will need a table there.Thanks.:)

Once you have reserved the diver with the Coral Reef staff, they will know to seat you close to the tank. You may end up having to wait a little longer for your table, but it is worth it. If it isn't possible to seat you on the lowest tier (closest to the tank windows), you will still be able to see your diver. S/He will dance wait around a bit if you want to get close to the tank for pictures. (We had to sit on the second tier as the baby was sleeping in his stroller and there was no room to keep him with us on the lowest tier.) Enjoy your birthday trip! :goodvibes

Thanks.:)If not for the need for room for the stroller, would you have been given a table by the tank?In other words,is everyone who has reserved the diver given an opportunity to sit at a Tier One table?I REALLY want to sit right by the tank!:) Thanks again.:)
