Coral Reef...good or bad?

I think the ambience is pretty romantic. It's dimly lit, lots of blues and greens, and there's the big aquarium. If I were planning a honeymoon trip, and I was looking for a nice romantic restaurant in the park, I would probably add Coral Reef to my dining itinerary. Enjoy, and congrats!!

I personally think that the Coral Reef would be a great place to eat while on your honeymoon. We really like it and it has a nice atmosphere. Enjoy whatever you decide and congrats!

Honestly, save it for when you go back with kids. I cant remember what the food is like and I don't care. Its all about getting a tank side table so the kids have their noses silently pressed to the glass the entire meal and dh and I actually have a nice quiet meal together (almost alone).

We liked the food (steak and salmon), and the tank was fun...but it wasn't particularly romantic. It is fairly large and noisy, with lots of little kids on the DDP. We had no problem with kids crowding our tankside table, but that has been reported.

It's a good restaurant, but not the place for a quiet, romantic evening.

I can see this place getting crowded and affecting the atmosphere. We went during an off-peak time, so it was pretty quiet and subdued.

Pretty much all the Epcot restaurants can get pretty crowded. If you really want a less crowded dining experience, aim for the resort hotels, especially Citricos, Artist Point, Yachtsman Steakhouse.

YES YES YES! This place totally rocks. We ate here on our 2nd honeymoon. They try to sit everyone up by the glass tanks. We asked to sit in the back away from everyone and the CM looked at me like I was nuts.

But it is quiet for a WDW eatery and you HAVE TO TRY THE LOBSTER SOUP! Its sooooooo goooood! (And cheap)

We usually do an early lunch here, before it fills up with children. We actually don't like the tables right up to the tank, but prefer those on the higher level; I don't like those fish watching me so closely as I munch on them.
Coral Reef always does something special for us for our anniversary, too - not to say that they necessarily would, but they have done nice anniversary desserts for us in the past. The servers are very friendly & nice, in our experience.
Cheers!

Very good restaurant choice for anniversary or honeymoon. You hear a great deal of bad comments about this place. I was hesitant to try it. My wife and I tried it on an adults only trip and loved the place. We go back regularly.

We went for our Honeymoon in 01 and had a fantastic time.

Make sure you tell them when making reservations that you are on your honeymoon.

Our server brought out a complementary toast of strawberries & Champagne. After our meal we were also treated to a complementary desert (Chocolate wave).

Obviously your mileage may very, but it was one of our favorite meals from our honeymoon. Cinderella's Royal Table was also special :)

Food was not that great needs to be updated. Price was high for what you get. Maybe France would be better.  party: party: party:
