I really want to take my new wife and kids to the Coral Reef to eat just once.

My kids and I ate there about 3-4 years ago for lunch and the view was breathtaking, but i cant remember at all what i ate.

The problem is, i dont like seafood at all, or any other really fancy stuff. I looked at the menu, and didnt see anything worth while. The only thing close is the New your strip, but at $22, thats a lot!

Just wondering if its possilbe to get something plain and simple there at all? Just a burger would do me fine, or am i stuck getting the steak for lunch if i want to eat there again??

The chicken breast i saw on the menu did nothing for me either, dont care for mushrooms either.

thanks!!

You could always ask if you could have something simple that isn't on the menu, but be prepared with a backup entree to order if the answer is "no". I know that usually Disney restaurant chefs are pretty accomodating.

You could try ordering from the children's menu, but the only offerings other than seafood and chicken are cheese pizza and pasta with marinara sauce.

I believe you could always go in and order desserts if you want????

Why don't the 2 adults split the steak and order an appetizer each?

You could most likely modify a menu item...
Grilled Chicken Breast - served with wild mushroom risotto with truffle butter $21.50
Do Grilled Chicken Breast with a vegetable
and NOT wild mushroom risotto with truffle butter

My DS will eat -> Grilled Shrimp - served over linguine pasta tossed with lobster sauce and Brussels sprouts $27.50
WITHOUT the Brussels Sprouts - or
Maybe we could just get the Grilled Shrimp and mashed pototoes (from kids menu)

My DS would also eat -> Tilapia Oscar - pan-seared Tilapia served with a crab cake and asparagus, finished with hollandaise sauce and tomato oil $25.50
But only the pan-seared Tilapia - again leave out the rest and add the mashed potatoes (from the kids menu)

My 12 yr old son and I both got the filet mignon and my husband got seafood. I'm weaning my son off the kids' menus, but this sure is an expensive way to do it.
