Have to agree with you completely about the staff of Coral Reef, and especially give kudos to Debbi, the Manager. When we were at the Coral Reef, I'd already made arrangements with Debbi (Talked to her a couple of times as well as emailing her) for both the special menu & for the diver for my wife's birthday ("One Day Older Than Epcot!"). Unfortunately, when we got to the restaurant, someone (NOT Debbi) had made a mistake and had marked off that it was our ANNIVERSARY, not her BIRTHDAY.
They did send the diver down with a "generic" happy birthday sign with her name on it, but didn't give us the special menu, since it was wrong. We had a good meal, & did get the happy birthday with the chocolate wave, but, that was mostly it. On our way out of the restaurant, I stopped at the desk to just ask if, even if they were wrong, would they be able to give us the special menus as I'd picked out some very special pictures to go on it. I ended up running into Debbi and talking to her. She remembered me almost immediately from the quote I'd asked her to put on the menu. Told her about how great she was with everything, & how everybody on Dis says such great things about her. She was VERY embarrassed by it all but very sweet. She was very sorry to hear that we hadn't gotten the right menu and that her assistant who handles the menus had somehow messed things up on it. She promised to not only find the menu, but find the RIGHT menu, and promised to get it to us at our hotel (Wilderness Lodge).
Debbi called and left us a voicemail at the hotel saying that she'd gotten out late from the restaurant and so was planning to drop off the menu on her way back in to work in the morning. BUT, she did also give us her cell phone # just in case we were due to depart the next morning before she'd be able to drop it off. Luckily, we were still there for a few days so it wasn't a problem, but, she obviously went WELL above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we had a great time. She really is great, and sets a great tone for her staff; they don't ALWAYS live up her expectations, but doesn't keep her from trying!
