I wanna see what people think about on this topic. Now i can understand if you work long and hard on a project that you hate to see someone copy it or create a original game and see others with similar titles. So i think it should be right for room creators to ask anyone thats doing a similar topic to change the title of the room or change the room.I know from past experience when i created a pirates ride that I had no idea WDW trivia forum members had already built a much better one than me :thumbsup2 so i took it a part and then thought, shouldn't rides be created in many different versions? Should one person have a right to that ride? But of course if someone was to say have a ride named "Awesome Space Mountain Ride" that someone cant come along and call their ride the same thing. Instead they should put originality into it and call it "SuzzieQ's Space Mountain"( SuzzieQ is a rep of a fake VMK character). Just thought I would share my thoughts on the matter.

And WDW Trivia i am sorry about calling my ex-ride Virtual POTC :goodvibes

hmm..i am not so sure about this one..i don't know if i am against or for, bc it has happened to me. I originally made a game called " Don't Get Stuck!" a very long time ago and now i am seeing many ppl with the same thing but with different titles. i am still very mad and disappointed about this. :sad2:

It's no problem Lax, and I personally thank you for that apology, you're the man dude!

And it's not about who made a WDW ride first and it should be the only one or who's is better, it's all a matter of attracting the crowds, and thankfully we have the boards to help do that, but unfortunately in VMK all we have his word of mouth. That, and a little room title that can make or break a room of any aspect.

Woo woo to Lax!

It's possible for two people to come up with the same idea at the same time. Right after the river parts came out, I had a dream 3 nights in a row of a certain room design with the river parts put together in a certain orginial way. I had never seen any room with that design before.

I didn't have the credits to build it but I kept dreaming about it over and over. On the 4th day someone on this DIS board built that very room with the river placed just in the same position I dreamed about.

And except for that one room I have never seen anyone else do it like that again. Was I mad that the other girl built the room - no. Do I still think of it as "my design" -- darn right I do. We just both had the same idea at the same time, only different was she had the credits to built it. Someday I might get around to spending the credits to do it. And it will still be my idea just as much as it was her idea.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery. :)

Be happy someone liked your idea enough to replicate it. Since you can't literally copyright it there's nothing you can actually do about it.

I had the misfortune of having my game open last night at the same time
another player with the same game title had hers open. We had totally
different games, but I didn't like having the same room title.

So I changed my room title.

maybe.

What makes me mad is when a person has the same game or something, they barge into your room and go, "You stole my room, I'm going to report you." Sometimes people say that and you thought of it first, but the person didn't know. They just want to see someone get banned.

Yeah I just found out someone is building an MGM. :) i need to thank them

Hey,

It's just like with the "Falling Chairs", "Cute Or Boot" and other rooms. Once a room is popular the people copy it.

One of my characters runs a game and I was quite surprised when people asked if it was okay to copy my idea. I told them it was okay, it never occurred to me to say it wasn't. The only time I found this offensive was when someone asked this and then asked for the contents of the room so they could set up their game. What were they thinking? :confused3 Actually, I'd rather not know the answer to that question because my head would probably implode from trying to understand it. :rotfl2:

qruthie (the 'q' is silent)

It is impossible to tell who got the idea first. Rolls' Doorway game was done a few times before her. It's all how you advertise it. :)
