I've read somewhere that its a good idea to make copies of your tickets so that if they're lost Disney can replace them. But I was just wondering before I copy them, will using a copier damage the magnetic strip on the back of the hopper? Thanks for the help.

PS- Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I'm also waiting for a reply...and may I also ask, do you all copy both sides?

Photocopiers use light to copy the object you place on the glass. It will no more hurt magnetic media than exposing it to sunlight.

All you need is the back-side with the serial number.

I always write the numbers(by hand) off the back of the passes, then photocopy that paper(so I have 2 copies). I put 1 copy in the van, and leave 1 at home. I was a little wary of putting the actual pass on the copier, too, and my old-fashioned method works fine. Last Oct., members of our party actually lost 4 passes, and with the numbers I had written down the CM's de-activated the lost passes and replaced them. I am very careful to copy the numbers and letters down exactly as they appear on the pass.

Yes, yes yes.. please copy them.

On our trip in 2000, we accidently left or someone swiped one of our childs tickets when we were getting FP's for Little Mermaid..

We went to go to MK, and counted tickets.. and were missing one!

Fortunately we made the copies and gave them to guest relations and had no problems getting a replacement.

The only thing that will mess up the magnetic strip is a magnet or the metal srip of another credit card if they rub together.

Photo copy machines or computer scanners do not have magnets, they use light, ie: take a picture.
