Copper vanity sinks?

We are also redoing the bathroom off of the kitchen. We are looking at granite for the vanity top and kitchen with sand, creams, golds, taupes, (more flowing, less speckled). I was going to get a typical biscuit oval undermount sink but the granites I have seen today would go beautifully with copper. I would get a hammered copper. An undermount copper sink is one consideration but I also like the look of vessel sinks, also in hammered copper. Any thoughts?

We have a copper vessel sink in a powder room that is used very little. We have gotten stains on the copper that we can't get out, I'm assuming from our very hard water. Some stains are blue, some are dark. Since the powder room is used only when we have company I tend to not even go in there much, and I probably should have maintained it better. Just be sure to find out if it needs any type of sealant, and proper maintenance, so it doesn't turn out like mine!

I was thinking it would turn black with all the water. I don't think it would be good for resale either.

I like the idea, but keep in mind that it WILL oxidize, and will have stains of anywhere from blue, green, purple, black and/or brown. Once it starts oxidizing, I would add touches of that color... Like in artwork, candles and accent towels!

Honestly, we had a copper wet bar sink in our basement and it was a nightmare! It was always stained and dark. We ended up ripping it out and putting in a stainless steel one because I couldn't stand it anymore. There is something very wrong about a sink that can't get wet...

Copper sinks are not fun......xh's Dad has them in his bar area and they are so hard to clean...
