Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Opening July 2017

If I didn't just spend so much anxiety & time trying to book BWV for our Sept. F&W trip I would consider trying to flip it once they open booking to the general membership. Goal for next year now!!

Yowza.... while the exterior looks amazing, the interior looks almost... modern???

Please tell me the pic in that link is misleading.

I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures of the studios, 1-, and 2-bedroom villas. The styling is more contemporary than craftsman/mission style. Also, the studios appear to be a step down from VGF and PVB.

It's pretty disappointing to me. Colors aren't right (they do mention the bright interior so it was intentional IMO and the wrong direction IMO). The Cabins and GV's seem better though however in the GV picture the furniture is again too modern but they at least used darker woods.

I only saw one interior pic in that link. If there was a GV I missed it...

Any predictions on when bookings will open? I will for sure try to change my October trip if they open soon.

I am actually a fan of the brighter interior since I find the interiors of some other properties much too dark. So the brightness doesn't bother me, but all the different types of wood is a bit strange.

I think one bedroom capacity at 4 is a big mistake. What do all of you think?

I was disappointed by this as well, would it have been that hard to add in a 5th murphy bed under the TV? I would much prefer that over shelving. If you are a family of 5 I don't see how this resort would work for you.

When checking out the various room styles/sizes, there is a little button pic next to each, though you can't expand it. You have to squint a bit, but you can see some difference. The shot of the studio can be enlarged by clicking on the large page picture of the older man and young boy looking over the balcony--there's a string of 5-6 pictures, and one of them is the studio pic enlarged. It's far too modern and bright for my tastes, and I don't like how the flooring goes across the room vice down the room--shrinks the room in to my eye. That being said, I don't believe DVC was ever attempting to lure current VWL owners to buy anew, but rather aiming at the rather large audience (apparently) that appears to not mind or prefer lighter, more modern theming that only barely hints at wilderness. Given how they have been doing that same IKEA-lite refurb the past few years, I guess it should come as no surprise. At roughly $4400 for a 25-point buy-in to a resort where I essentially already own, and for the interior that I see in the pictures, buying CCVC doesn't appear in the cards for us. Then again, once we tour, perhaps we'll change our minds. . .or not. . .

I'm okay with not having a studio sleep 5. The studios at PVB and VGF, while lovely, are much too crowded since they gave up the storage to get that extra person in there. Wasn't a fan, so having storage and only sleeping 4 is absolutely okay with me.

Agreed. I was originally thinking copper creek would be the next add on to shoot for. However without a one bedrooms ability to sleep five that definitely changes things for me - loss of flexibility to sleep my group of five young adults together if needed to maximize points.

If you can view this link it is here under the room descriptions that I saw a single picture of the cabin and the GV interior as well as it showing the studio and the master for the 1BR.

Or here are the pictures - not real high quality.

We are on the fence in buying since having a daughter and a son in a one bedroom that has a double bed in the living room. To old to be sleeping together or a marketing ploy by Disney to buy more points for the two bedroom?? We just returned this weekend and love the new restaurant on some of the updates.

It is surprising to me that the studio sleeps four, when the recent trend has been to include a Murphy bed, so that an additional guest can be accommodated. Unless the inclusion was difficult because of the square footage, why would Boulder Ridge studios feature one, but the soon to open Copper Creek omit it?
