Since Copper Creek only has the 4 person limit on their one bedrooms, will you still be allowed to bring the 5th person similar to other one bedrooms as long as you provide the bedding.

1-Bedroom Villa
View Floor Plans- Modal
Views of Pool, Bay Lake, Woodlands, Courtyard, Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa

Sleeps Up to 4

It doesn't look like it.

I would ask before assuming. As you would want that 5th person added as a guest so you can get FPs for them with rest of the family at the 60 day mark.

What a major blow if not... I just don't understand why Disney has gone from 5 person studios at Poly to nothing for 5 until a 2 bedroom at its newest DVC.

The Studios at CCV are pretty small (only Value Studios @ AKV and BLT Studios are smaller). Also, the connecting door (to the 1-bedroom to make a 2 bed lock-off) is located in the living area making furniture size and placement a factor.

MS may know but otherwise it's only on the booking page that it shares that you can have 5 but bedding not included for the 5th. I'm expecting it will be the same for CCV but until we see that or ask MS we won't know.

good points
And someone pointed out that, while CCV studios have more sqft than moderates, the CCV studio bed area is smaller than a moderate's bed area (where there is no balcony and the bathroom can be on the back wall and not waste space with a kitchenette and hallway)

Totally fine with the layout and understand size restrictions.... just was hoping for a new 1 bedroom option for 5. We prefer having the one bedroom for laundry and kitchen aspects over the studio.

I would guess that the villas will have balconies (or first floor patios) since the rooms that have been converted all previously had them.

As to having five in the room if you bring your own bedding for the fifth, that is likely to apply. All the DVC resorts that have sleeping spaces only for four in the 1BR say the same thing in the official documents and room descriptions as CCV, in that they sleep only four. Allowing five if you bring your own bedding for the fifth is not in any of the official documents or room descriptions applicable to each resort and used for sales. It is simply an allowance DVC created as generally applicable to the resorts that sleep only four in a 1BR, purposefully done that way so that it cannot be construed as something a purchaser could validly claim reliance on in making a decision to purchase, since the allowance for the fifth can be changed at any time at DVC's discretion.

So I thought I would share some information on this. We bought the weekend before the Grand Opening, one of the very first contracts. In discussing points etc. because we are a family of five, My sales guide made a big deal out of the bring your own bedding and told us all about it and that we could do that a copper creek. I was skeptical because I had not heard of it, did some online research while waiting on the contract preparation and confirmed from sites like this that it does exist. We went ahead and booked a one bedroom for february break 2018 during 11month window. At that time my 17 year old daughter was not able to go, so we only had four on reservation. My sales guide said no problem if it changes just call and add her and bring your own bedding, pay for extra towel set if you want. Well now she can go, so I called today to add her and guess what, Copper Creek is very strict about that and absolutely will not allow 5 because of fire code. So now we are so close nothing is available but Saratoga Springs, and they are saying we can't bring her. I am on a slim to none waitlist for a 2 bedroom. I know I will get many responses only trust what is in writing etc. But I am pretty upset because it was used as a sales tactic on how many points we needed etc. Have no idea if the guide actually knew it would not be allowed. I emailed him this afternoon to ask what the heck?

Always get it in writing from a timeshare salesperson. If it's not in writing, he/she didn't say it. I heard, too, that CCV is a hard rule four in the one bedroom.

That's terrible! And February break is the new Christmas it seems like. Not cool. If I had a reservation then, I would have swapped you. Maybe someone else can and would to stay at the new resort if you post it? Doesn't hurt to ask.

That really stinks! Depending on what the guide says to you, I would lodge a complaint with MS. Giving false information like that is unacceptable. Hope they work something out with you.

Again, if the "Guide" didn't give it to the buyer in writing, he/she didn't say it. Get it in writing. My guess is the "guide" was just interpolating data from the other DVC resorts and make the wrong judgment in this case.

One of the complicating factors here is that the 5 in a 1B (for most resorts) has always gone counter to the POS. The formal docs for BoardWalk, Beach Club, Saratoga and others cite a maximum occupancy of just 4 guests for a One Bedroom Villa. That policy could be altered at any time. In fact, it's POSSIBLE that they had planned to allow 5 at Copper Creek and have since reversed that decision. (Possible, though not probable.)

Fact is, reversal of the "5 in a 1B" policy is something all owners may someday have to contend with.
