Early Entry Ending at DLR

We’ve done ETPE many times at DL/DCA and it was always well attended- just as much as WDW. It seems like a cop out to me. And if it’s done away with at WDW eventually, there are still more onsite perks than DL (early LL booking, transportation, free parking, water park day, occasional free dining etc).

I imagine it will be coming. I would not pay for it since it was an included perk before. That said, Early Morning Magic at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom used to be really, really fun, but they were longer. Maybe like 60-90 minutes and included breakfast.
I have a childhood memory of going to DL and having some sort of early morning thing where we got breakfast and also got to see characters - it must have been something that was paid, although I don't know for certain. I think this would have to have been the early to mid-90s. I would not be opposed to some sort of early morning thing like that where you really got to feel like a VIP before the park opened.

Next august we´ll be staying at VGC for a week, and I was thinking about getting MMB just because the ticket discount. Since these tickets already include LLMP, I guess then we´ll not have any perk for staying onsite right?

Personally, this will sway me to save my points and just stay offsite at DL. VGC is still lovely, but hard to get at 7 months and the TOT kills any interest in the DLH.

The one LL you get for staying on-site is basically a anytime LL. You can use it on any LLMP ride w/o making a reservation. Apparently it shows up as a scannable barcode in the app and you scan that at the ride you wish to use it at. So even if you already have LLMP you'll have 1 extra to use.

Yes.. it pops up separately and you scan the barcode. Since I made the DVC reservation all 4 of the barcodes for my family were under my account. You can used them for any ride that has LLMP, even if you had previously ridden the same ride using LLMP. We used it yesterday and rode Haunted twice.

Thanks for confirming. I'll be interested to hear from the first person who chooses to do a split stay to test out if you get one from each portion.....

When I stayed at the Grand Californian for several days a couple of Octobers ago (cash booking since I was never able to grab anything w/ my DVC points) I found early entry into MK to be an absolute cluster.
The security lines were ridiculous & there were literally hundreds/thousands of resort + off site guests queued for them, the entry turnstiles weren’t much better. You weren’t sorted until you were in the park, but to get to that sorting point there were really long lines, thus to enjoy that early half hour you’d probably have to start over an hour before just to make it through the crowds.
I expressed dissatisfaction with the way it was being handled in my survey. It’s unfortunate that DL took the cheap option & just eliminated early entry rather than dedicating a couple of security lines & entry turnstiles to the exclusive use of their resort guests during pre opening.

We scored a VGC studio this past summer. Every day the security guards would go through the lines prior to letting people through for EE and assure you had a room key. No room key, you had to leave the line. It worked well.

I can only imagine what it is going to look like now. Probably more like what you are describing.

We did early entry in December and they only wanted to see the room key... which frankly could have been expired as they didn't check. I found that very odd since at WDW they scan in one person from your party to check for eligibility.

Yeah at DLR there was very little to no oversight of people actually qualifying when we went in December. Maybe since it was ending they gave up.

Odd…..unless they just didn’t care at that point. In the summer it was show room key at security and in the parks you had to tap your room key on a reader (or show the reservation in the app) once in the park in front of the “rope”.
