Neither in August due to the longer walk - I would just do a 2br with AC in the hallways. In December, Cabin since WL Xmas decorations are better.

Isn’t the free exterior sauna considered a perk?

I do hope the 2BR at CCV get the Murphy bed during the soft refresh in 2024/2025.

Did them both. Loved the bungalows. Hated the cabins. The view from the bungalow was amazing - watched the Electrical Water Pageant and the fireworks (with the audio on the cabin patio) every night. The view from the cabin was basically scrub brush and trees. Loved cooling off in the bungalow plunge pool in the afternoon/evening. Found the hot tub at the cabin unusable (too hot and couldn’t lower the temperature). I could go on with other likes/dislikes, but suffice it to say we have adjusted the way we use our points so that we can stay in a bungalow every few years. Wouldn’t even consider doing that for a cabin.

If I am spending that much per night on a cabin its going to be one on a lake, with a private beach, with hardly anyone else around, and out in wilderness.

I know people love CCV and I really like the resort aesthetic but I can drive down the road and find a place just as nice with a much better water park with the same theme.

The point chart for the Poly Bungalows is brutal. We want to stay to check it off a bucket list, but it would have to be for at max 2 nights during the week in a low season. This is coming from someone who is not that frugal with our points (we stay in mostly 2BR, 3BR, and 1BR units).

There are many 3BR GV that I would rather stay in for less points. CCV cabins on the other hand are a good "value" in comparison. They cost less than the GV at CCV (a room we love) and it would be a tempting upgrade from a typical 2BR at CCV for a special occasion.
I have similar thoughts. We've stayed in the CCV Cabins a couple of times and a VGF GV, but the Poly Bungalow points are just too much to stomach. And this is despite Poly being our favorite resort.

We really like the Cabins and how private/removed they are from everything else, and the private parking lots. We've been lucky to have mild fireworks views each time, enough to go out on the patio and listen/watch, but the view definitely isn't great. We plan to go back to the Cabins 2-3 nights each year.

We'll find a time to check off the Bungalows, just not sure when. Maybe if some future add-on gives us 'prior' UY points to burn.

Low key I'm considering getting 600 SSR points and saying screw the poly tower, give me the bungalow and the cabin to supplement the MK portion of my trips lol. For me I guess I'd have to say the bungalow, that lake view of MK fireworks is pretty tough to beat but once I stay in both who knows, I may end up preferring the cabin because of the hot tub :P

Reactions: ehh
We stayed for 8 nights in a Poly bungalow the year they opened (during the low-point September period). We were right in the middle of the cluster of the bungalows, and do not remember sounds from the ferries to be an issue. It was a truly unique experience, in the best way. Being able to watch the fireworks from out in the middle of the lagoon on our private porch, with sound piped in was something I will never forget. That said, it was probably a one-and-done due to the points, as others have said.

We are planning a trip for the CC cabins for next year, to check that one off the list. That said, ignoring the points charts I would be hard pressed not to choose the Poly bungalows as the "once-in-a-lifetime" splurge. But that opinion could change after next year. :)

The view from the cabins is my concern as well. My mom and I walked around them last time we were in Disney and just about every view seemed obscured. We had thought about buying CCV points because the 3BD was absolutely spectacular, but after really looking at the cabins decided we would rather splurge on the bungalows again.

Based on our biased and limited knowledge, this is the best room in the DVC system at WDW. Great theme, okay size, love the layout (other than that weird pillar in the kitchen). We are looking forward to our first stay in a few days :)

Enjoy! Of all the places we have stayed - and toured - in Disney this has been my favorite. And ironically, we ended up there by accident due to problems at the Bungalows.

This was our view from the cabin, and it was nicer in real life. I would not like the view from the lower numbered cabins, they would have the boats going right in front of the cabin with people seeing into your cabin and sight of the monorail and Contemporary which I would rather not have, plus they look onto a little island. I have not stayed at the bungalows because the points are too high.

Thanks. That’s better than it looks from the outside, but I think I still prefer the unobstructed higher up views from the 3B. There is something so incredibly peaceful about being there.

Cabins! I've heard that it can get REALLY loud on the bungalows in the morning from the ferry boats

Have not stayed in a Bungalow but loved the Cabin and the amenities make more sense IMO. A hot tub and fireplace vs a cold plunge pool at the Bungalow.

We stayed in a bungalow for the first time last year. Didn’t notice the boat noises but we were somewhere in the middle so that problem helped insulate. It was really nice and I enjoyed reading on the chair swing on the deck. And I always enjoy staying at a resort that is within walking distance of the parks or DS.

Staying in the cabins in December so it will be interesting to compare the two places.

Ignoring points - Poly Bungalow. Who am I kidding, we don’t have enough to stay in either. Ha ha ha

I know this is bit of a tangent, but IF the new Poly tower is part of the current condo association vs a new association, would that allow Disney to "balance" the point requirements and perhaps bring down the point cost of the Bungalows? I agree the points gap between WL cabins and Poly bungalows is painful. I'm a huge Poly fan (first visit 1972) and would love to stay in the bungalows. I realize it may be more likely that it's a new association but just curious.....

We stayed in the Poly bungalows for a week a few years ago (special request from my oldest when she graduated from high school)and while it is nice and roomy, the boat horns were annoying and we felt kind of away from all of the action. Was a one snd done for us
