Is anyone doing or has done Ground Transportation from the Copenhagen Marriot to Port? Care to share tips/experiences?
What time does it usually leave? do you have to call before hand?
We're staying at the Scandic (across the street from the Marriot) and after booking Ground Transportation they moved our PAT to 11 AM, nice touch I guess.

We are staying at the Marriott and will simply take a taxi over to the port.

I haven't cruised there but have family there. I’d take a taxi too, your other option is a bus, but they don’t look very direct.

We are taking the bus because the bus in front of our hotel goes directly to the port.
It’s only 2 km

We stayed out at the airport Hilton for a couple of days and did a taxi to the Copenhagen port. It was on of the longer transits possible in that city but found it to be reasonable. The bonus - our driver swung into the Royal palace since we were passing it just so we could see it.

If you are considering DCL transfers to port, we did that in London to Dover and it was helpful due to the length but I would prefer not do that again for various reasons. On a short transfer I really would use a taxi.

I can't answer your question, but If your leaving the port and going to the airport I would suggest DCL transportation. The taxi line was huge. We waited an hour, but the line was twice as long when we left. Our cruise went from Dover to Copenhagen so a lot of people were going to hotels after the cruise. If we hadn't been business class and had priority check in I think we would have missed our flight to Paris.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. I haven't booked any flight yet, so there is a chance we might not go straight to the airport after we disembark.

We had a late flight. We went back to our hotel and stored our luggage for the day and went to the museum. We also took DCL transport from port to city center (train station). We picked a hotel across from the station for this purpose. The area around station in C was quite nice and directly across from Tivoli. We spent the AM before the cruise sightseeing for a few hours. This is the hotel-we had a family room for 4. It was cute and I'd pick it again, esp. if I wanted to store my bags on the way back (be sure to confirm baggage storage in advance): Copenhagen Plaza, Bernstorffsgade 4.
We had stayed at Marriott on prior cruise, very nice, but not as convenient if you want to walk around C, see Tivoli, etc. We took a taxi both from that hotel and Marriott to port.

We stayed at the Scandic, but ship was leaving from Nordhaven, not Langeline.
Taxi is usually about the same$€£¥'s as Disney Transpo for 3 people; it got us there.

I had a similar experience this summer in Copenhagen. 2 hours to get a taxi, and unless you booked DCL transportation, there was really no other option to get into the city with luggage. There was a bus, it was a very confusing option and the line for the bus was over an hour long. We had 2 ships debarking the day we were there. There were just not enough taxi's. Also unless you plan to have your hotel call/schedule a taxi for you, I did not find it was easy to hale a taxi in Copenhagen. Mostly used the metro but needed a taxi at one point and could not get one.

Also took dcl transport from port due to hearing of lack of taxis. No issues getting a taxi to the port from hotel. Hotel can arrange

I had this feeling we should skip breakfast and go to the airport even though our flight wasn't until noon. I felt bad about not saying goodbye to a servers on a 11 night cruise, but it's a good thing I followed my gut instinct.

Copenhagen airport was also a complete mess with huge lines. Again we were priority so caught a break there too. Same thing in Paris. The airlines weren't joking when they said get there four hours early. Hopefully next Summer the staffing issues are better.

Thanks. So DCL transport can go to either city center or airport? Do you remember how much it was per person? With a family of 5, I wonder what the cost difference is.

We are going on our first Disney cruise, and first time to Europe this summer, will also be staying at Marriott prior to cruise. Why did you choose to take a taxi instead of Disney transportation? We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids), so trying to figure out the most cost-effective and efficient way to get from the hotel to the port. Thanks!

After disembarkation, what are options for DCL transport? Just the airport? Or will it take it to Marriott/Tavoli hotels again?

Sailed on the 7 Night Northern Europe Last August from Copenhagen. I would encourage you to just take a Taxi on Embark day. They can be hailed easily via app and are fairly inexpensive. The app lets you decide what vehicle size you need to call which is an awesome feature. (Van, Car, SUV, etc) Its all a pre-calculated system too so no haggling or anything like that.

When you are Disembarking, its easy to take a taxi from the port. There was a bit of a line when we got off the ship (We weren't in a hurry) but it went quickly.

Because the airport is so far away, We elected to take the train from the airport to Copenhagen Central Station which saves a good chunk of change. Its a good length drive otherwise (30 ish minutes minimum) which will be much more expensive in a taxi. We had the Taxi driver drop us off at the Train station instead of driving all the way back to the airport as the cost would have been astronomical compared to taking the train.

I highly encourage you to download the app "Rome2Rio". The app allows you to enter a location and will show you all the ways you can get there. (Taxi, Train, etc.) it is very helpful for international travel because it presents additional options you may not normally look for. I did a lot of research on the app in advance to see what the best options were.

Have a great sailing! We look forward to sailing out of Copenhagen again, its such an incredible place.
