Hello! I have done the research and math on the Copenhagen Card for our trip this June. Given our plan, it will benefit us to get the card. Does anyone know if I can purchase it at Terminal 3 in the airport OR do I have to pre-order it and get the voucher via email then exchange the voucher at Terminal 3?
THANK YOU and Cheers!

What does their website say?

You can pre-order it and they will send you the actual cards. I ordered ours for the EBTA 4/1 and received them 4/10 - they are very prompt :) Or you can purchase the voucher, but having the cards mailed is way easier.

At this point, we're planning on getting it at the airport, since there's an additional 8 euro charge to have it mailed out.

We bought ours in the airport when we arrived. The Visitor center was easy to find and the transaction was quick. You can use the card to enter Tivoli every day the card is good.

From what I found, it only talks about pre-order, hence my thread. I thought you could buy there, yet I don't want to risk it. I emailed ... No response.

I'm trying to avoid my CC protection questions ... I know it's silly, yet I'm not comfortable entering certain information they want. We have a CC from a military institution and they are amazing at protection, yet I'd rather pick a different option on this one if I can.

This is helpful. We had a 2-day visit to Copenhagen on our 2015 Baltic, and will be starting our Norway/Iceland=>Dover cruise from there in 2018. Not entirely sure if the Card is such a good "deal" unless one goes to 3+ museums and takes 2+ transit trips each day. From the Langelinie quay (where the Magic docked), it was not such a terrible walk to Tivoli and most of the museums (we actually took Uber back one day, although Uber is leaving Denmark). 3 museums in a day is a lot for us and with Tivoli, the admission charge is just the beginning (tickets for the attractions and for food/beverages are quite a bit extra). Still, I would be open to it for next Summer, so please let me know how it works out for you all.

We bought ours at our hotel. We stayed at Hotel Absalon. It was super easy- apparently many hotels sell them at the front desk.

We have kids under 10, and getting in 2 free kids with every adult made it much cheaper for us. I can see how if you were only adults or older kids it may not be such a good deal.

I will! We are planning quite a few sites. We are a very active family that has explored 76 National Park sites here in the US in just 6 years. We are history buffs and love to explore new places. For us, we like the idea of those admission prices being paid for ahead of time and our train tickets (for our initial trip from airport to hotel and for sites on the outskirts of town already being purchased) One less "thing" to worry about. In the end, I'm sure it won't be a huge savings, yet for us, having things pre-paid and just ENJOYING the free flow of travel will be a benefit!

It's probably safer than carrying a credit card around Europe.

You're welcome.

Good to know about CC in Europe!! We are not huge CC people and I'm trying to plan as much in advance so most things are pre-paid and then I have the local currency on hand for the rest :-) Sooooo, given that, I should pre-order the card? I will re-think that!

It's up to you. I didn't intend to scare anyone with my post. In fact, I started typing, stopped and changed my mind without completing my thought. It got posted when I responded to another post. We plan on taking and using credit cards. I understand they are widely accepted in Copenhagen. My wife bought some RFID credit card blocking sleeves. I'm skeptical that they are necessary or even effective; however, I plan on keeping my cards in them to keep her happy.

Didn't scare me! I think it's great to hear all perspectives! I ended up buying them today for ease of when we arrive and talked to my CC! All worked out perfectly!! In fact my CC is so good that they didn't accept the purchase at first! :-) Happy to see they were watching!! Cheers!

There are a lot of free museums in Copenhagen and the card lists some of those (at least) as included. The National Museum was completely free (even the lockers!) when we went in 2015. It also has a fantastic free children's museum right on the first floor! So in that case, it's not an added value to the card. So do check the prices of each museum you would visit before deciding in the card. We stayed near the train station, so didn't need much transportation wise, we could walk, so think about that too.

On a side note, I HIGHLY recommend taking a day to go up to the Viking museum in Roskilde. It was our favorite thing of the trip. I don't think that's part of the card, but the beautiful cathedral there is.

Sadly, the National Museum started charging for admission again last summer. I was there in December and paid something like $10 for an adult ticket. Note that, if you are interested in history, this is still just about the best deal in town. I visit the National Museum almost every time I am in Copenhagen. The exhibits from the Stone through Viking ages have my highest recommendation, but the museum is very large, housed in a former 18th century royal palace, and it is impossible to see it all. And I second the Roskilde idea: this is such a beautiful and interesting trip when the weather is nice.

Just as a side note, it is entirely possible to take the plane from Copenhagen/CPH to Billund/BLL if you really want to visit Legoland. The flight itself is 25 minutes and very comfortable as Scandinavian flies planes that seat around 80 passengers. Domestic flights in Denmark are very common and I use them around 20 times/year. The terminal in Billund is right on the other side of the street to the Legoland entrance. The only downside is that a same day return flight will cost $250-300/adult, although you can cut that in half if you book well in advance. Having said that, there is so much to see in Copenhagen that you don't need to go anywhere else.
