Cooler w/ice & Security?

When we were at Disneyland in Nov. 2006, we brought a small, soft sided cooler with a few cans of soda and ice through security with no problem.

Has anyone gone through security recently with a small cooler w/ice & drinks? Is it still allowed?

As long as it's a small, soft sided cooler, it should be no problem!

We've gone through with a small soft sided one with those frozen blue ice sticks to keep sandwiches cool, but not actual pieces of ice.

The blue boxes are much better as they won't drip when they melt

What we liked using for "ice" was frozen water bottles (yes, I know you're not "supposed" to freeze single use water bottles). They kept cold and then you had icy water to drink later.

The only time I've seen it be a problem, was when someone tried to bring in a large hard cooler on wheels. It didn't look like they were going to allow it.
