Any recommendations for a good soft sided cooler/lunch box to take water bottles to the parks? The past few trips we had used a 31 lunch bag, but it barely held 2 bottles of water & a straw cup for the toddler. The zipper broke on it so I'm looking to upgrade.

We got a cooler backpack from Target for $25 this summer and used it in the parks. Plenty of room for 3 o 4 water bottles. Mesh pockets on each side to carry water bottles. the lid has a zipper compartment big enough to carry a few snacks. A nice size zipper area in the front for phone, napkins, poncho's. Plus a mesh pocket in the front as well.
I carried frozen water and the water stayed cold all day in the HOT summer temps. We took it to the pools.
Also good if you get a meal and don't finish it you can bring the leftovers back to your room. Just ask for a large cup of ice to place in the bag with the food. I did this with a meal I got at the Rainforest at the AK.

I second this cooler!!! We have had one for years and I love it. We pack picnic lunches in it when we are hiking or going to be gone all day like to the zoo or a festival. I used it on road trips too. Can't say enough about it.

You can stop at any Counter Service restaurant and request a cup of water and they'll give you free ice cold water.

I second this! We've done this for the past couple of years. So much easier, and I'm guaranteed cold water and I don't have to lug anything around. I will say that the size of the cup will vary from location to location. Sometimes we've gotten the really huge (quart?) sized cup and sometimes the one that like a child's size, but mostly we get a 16 oz cup.

Costco (if you have a membership) sells a great one, it's $19.99 and will hold a few bottles and snacks. It has 2 straps and fits nicely on the shoulder (it looks more like a purse, but they do sell it in black so if a man is carrying it, it doesn't look funny)
