Cool tool for those that HATE the search in Outlook

For a while I've been using this tool called Lookout, which is an add-in to Microsoft Outlook (NOT Outlook express) that allows you to search your mail quickly as if you are searching for things on the internet.

It was frustrating to sift through trying to find an email that I had sent and trying to use the built in search (which is crappy at best).

You can download a copy of Lookout from their site here.

This is one FREE tool that I can highly recommend, normally after I hear someone complain about the regular searching. You guys get it now.

I know that you can now use desktop search tools/etc, but this one is just for Outlook. Don't need to search my PC, just mail!

If Google Desktop indexes email (and I believe it does), then Lookout wouldn't really be that good of a thing for you.

I do have to suggest, as my company has suggested to all of us employees that deal with financial data, that we not use Google Desktop as our desktop of choice because of the chance of it uploading personal data on your machine to their servers. Google will of course say the data is safe, but as our Security staff always pounds on us 'Better safe than sorry.' As hard to swallow as it sounds, they have been recommending if we want to use a desktop search that it be Microsofts.
