Cool Runnings.....where is the ride

Here in the UK Cool Runnings is one Disney movie that really has a cult status, especially amongst those of my age group 22-30 year olds.

Disney has some great sporting movies that are done well and yes they have all star sports and wide world of sports with ESPN but I feel they have missed a trick by not creating a cool runnings ride at one of the parks. At WDW they have BTMRR and 7DMT which are both very similar in theming and why not replace them with a bobsleigh style rollercoaster or water ride, where you ride as a 4 man team in bobsleighs down a replica of the track from the movie.

It would have some great merchandise opportunities as well. Also a great celebration of a true life story.

What are everyone’s thoughts?

In the US I don't think many kids today have watched Cool Runnings. So if they were to make a ride I think a lot of kids would have no clue what it is.

I also don't think they'd have a ride for it because it would be too similar to Space Mountain at MK, and the Matterhorn bobsled at Disneyland. That and they just simply can't have a ride for every movie

Take a DCL western Caribbean cruise to Jamaica. I think that's as close as you will get.

I mean, I didn't pay any attention to the movie, but at least my kid has seen it!

Just what Disney needs to punch back against Universal! I don't think it would really resonate with the modern park-goer, frankly.

I love Cool Runnings!! But it's unrealistic to replace a ride as iconic as BTMRR or as new as 7DMT with a Cool Runnings ride. In the USA, I don't think Cool Runnings is that popular. Besides, there is no area of any park that really fits the theme of Cool Runnings, unless Jamaica was added to the World Showcase.

It might be a good retheming for something at Blizzard Beach, though.
