What are some cool bus driver experiences you've had.

Once, after a long day and in the wee hours of the nite, as our bus driver dropped us off he sang the M-I-C, see you real soon song.....it was GREAT!!!

I love the ones that talk to you on the long ride back to the resort... they give you a quick history lesson of WDW or some Disney trivia.... makes the ride more fun when you are crammed in there like sardines..

Duds

We have had some terrific bus drivers. At the end of park closing at Epcot one year, we got on the bus to go back to POR. The driver took one look at my dd and started yelling...'Watch out everyone...we have a redhead on board.' Kept it up all the way back to the resort. It was hysterical. He kept checking to make sure dd wasn't upset about anything. Kept saying we all know how redheads can get upset very easily and then who knows what can happen.
Or the bus driver we had one time who kept up a steady stream of Disney trivia questions for us. Or the singing bus driver with 'the wheels on the bus....'! Some terrific drivers out there that really add to the fun.

DS and I ended up one night being the only passengers on a bus at Ft Wilderness coming back from the Electrical Water Parade. The bus driver asked DS all sorts of Trivia questions, gave him a couple of Disney character cards, and a Junior Bus Driver's license. MOST cool.

We just returned from the World and on Friday, our last night, our driver on the way home from EPCOT started with some trivia questions. One of the questions was, "What does EPCOT stand for?" Of course, we gave the standard answer, but he replied, "Yes, but it has recently been changed by the guests; it stands for Every Person Comes Out Tired". He then proceeded to lead us in a chorus of Zip a Dee Doo Dah. Almost everyone on the bus joined in. He told us that on his bus the night before only 4 people joined in, so for that he made them sing, It's a Small World. It really made our evening. I'm sorry I didn't get his name, but we were so tired after a long day in the park I didn't notice his name tag when we got on.

YEP....most of them really go out of their way hopping for a buck, or two. We usually tip them if they entertain us! Do you? :thumbsup2

The bus driver that shuttled us from the MK back to our resort on 9/11/01 when the park was evacuated. Some of the drivers were in a meeting and they just jumped in buses (not even in uniform) and went to the various parks to help out. When she pulled up and the doors opened, and we asked if she was going to our resort, she told us just to get on and she'd get everyone where they needed to go. Very much appreciated.

Nope, never have....I don't think it's very common practice.

there was a bus driver that played "the wheels on the bus" song with us and made us sing along. he did everything he sang like "the windshield wipers on the bus go swish swish swish" he turned on the wipers :) :thumbsup2

most other disney bus drivers dont say a word! :confused3

Um, well, a bus driver last week told me I was his favorite Guest ever :teeth:
I'd done something he'd never had happen before - my ECV and I voluntarily waited* for the next bus, even though I could have boarded his, because there were a lot of Guests already in line when I got there.

*okay, fine - I make the rules, the ECV does what I want to do ;)

We've had Disney trivia rides and "the wheels on the bus" song...but it's been a very long tiome since we've had anything like this. I miss it!
