anyone have a brand to recommend?

I have been building a collection of All-Clad Stainless cookwear and will swear by it. Pricey, but worth every penny.

anyone have a brand to recommend?

I have the Emmeril stainless steel set and really like it. The only problem I had was adjusting my cooking temp and timing. The stainless cooks way faster at a much lower temp so you really have to watch and readjust to start. I think I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond for under $200.

I have All-Clad. I'm sure there are some other brands that work as well, I just don't have the money to try them out. I have tried to buy some cheaper types of stainless and they didn't work out well at all.

I have the All-Clad Copper Core. Love it!!! It IS pricey but if you consider the cost over the years of all the "cheap" cookware I've had and then had to replace......

I started with a VERY basic 7-piece set and then added individual items that I needed.

This is made in America AND has a life time warranty!

AND if you sign up for emails from Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, etc., you will find that various items of All Clad sometimes go on sale!

I also keep two skillets (one very small and one very large) that have the non-stick coating (still All Clad) for things like frying eggs, pancakes, and bacon.

I have a set of Revereware copper bottom "chef's" version pots/pans. They were available in Walmart in 2002, but I don't know if they still carry them. They are very good.

My mom has a set of All-Clad and loves it. She got me the Kitchen Aid stainless set for Christmas and I really like it. It depends on what price range you're looking for. All-Clad if you can afford it, definitely.

I also have the Emeril stainless steel produced by All-Clad and love it. Everything cooks so much faster and even. The ones I have can go in the oven but you can burn things very quickly and the lid handles can get very hot!

I have Salad Master and it's very expensive, but it is great.

I won't cook with any non-stick anymore.

The trick to stainless steel is to heat the empty pans for a few minutes so they are really hot, then add in COLD oil, and heat that up to the right temperature before adding the ingredients. This way things don't stick.

I've seen various items on sale at T.J. Maxx types of stores. Our local version, Daffy's, had Cuisinart pans for a while.

I've been using my basic 10 piece All-Clad set for over a decade now and they are still as wonderful as ever. Only one pot has a tiny small dent after it got knocked off of the counter by accident and fell on our ceramic tile. The rest look like new. I've added a larger stock pot to it and I do have a gridle. Otherwise I haven't needed anything else new a all. They are more expensive but so worth it!

I never heard that, I will have to try it! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Yes, I learned it from a great cooking show on PBS ages ago, called The Frugal Gourmet. Jeff Smith used to say, "Hot pan, cold oil, then the food will never stick." :thumbsup2

We have the triple-ply Food Network stainless steel set. Best cookware we have ever had. It cooks even and cleans easily.
