Cookware advice needed

Judy,

Agree with Chell...my favorite cooking show does steaks in the skillet, and once I tried that method, I never went back to the other way!

I do most roasts in a crock pot, but the Le Creuset does a roast just fine. The nice thing is that all the yummy caramelization can be made into a nice gravy once you take the roast out!

Le Creuset for soup, stew, marinara sauces. You might get a bit of sticker shock at a good stock pot, but they are worth every penny. If you think about the cost by weight, it's also a good deal:p !

I have had T-Fal and Circulon. I have wore both of them out. My next set is going to be Cooks Essential from QVC. I am hoping that I will not be able to wear them out. I literally wear the non stick right off of them. I use my cook wear hard, almost everyday.

My target had Calaphon on clearance this week. I don't know if it is the kind you bought in a green box. The roaster, small pot with two handles were like $19.98 each. The 6 or 8 pc calaphon baking set was $19.98 too.

Must be that time of year for a good clearance sale at Target. Yesterday we saw tons of kitchen stuff at great prices. They had an iron skillet grill pan for $6.00! Can't remember what else they had, but that was the one that really caught my eye.

Well, I bought a very nice Rival electric skillet tonight very nice looking and has a see through glass top which will be handy. Next I think I will buy an oldfashioned iron skillet.....could someone please tell me the best way to "season" it both prior to and inbetween cooking ?
I think the stockpot will be on my "wish" list for a while.
