I'm making a turkey meatloaf which calls for white beans (south beach). I forgot the beans. Should I leave it out or substitute with pinto/black/red/pink beans? Any suggestions?

I've never heard of beans in meatloaf. I'd just leave them out.

I think the beans are there to replace bread crumbs. Pinto or pink would work fine, I think black are a little small and have a harder texture. Are you mashing them? If you just leave them out, the texture will be different; it acts as something to hold it all together.

The white beans are softer than the others and will add some softness to the texture of the meatloaf, but you can also use the others. I love that South Beach recipe too! So do my kids and even though they like beans, they don't have any idea that they are in the dish.

Hope it turns out well for you!
