Please!!! I know that it will be more cost effective in the long run... especially now that the hated BRP is no more. I am really hoping to take at least 2 week long trips to WDW in the coming year and very possibly a 3rd in early 2007. I know with AP discounts on rooms it would make sense for me to go ahead with an annual pass but I am just a little scared of making the commitment!! Help!! :cool1:

I purchased my AP voucher last May. Was going to activate it in October, but with the free dining plan, I put it in the safe. Had a bad week last week, but because of the demise of the BRP, I'm going to pull it out and activate it this coming weekend. Having the AP has made it possible for me to get a weekend away and plan 4 more trips this year. Some people are like you and don't want to make the commitment incase some other deal comes up. I prefer just being able to "just go" when I want to. Good Luck!

Cheers!

I bought an AP last year and saved over $700 on two hotel rooms for our trip last March and it coverd my park ticket which would've been almost $300. We are going again Feb 3-11 and saved a bundle on our hotel room ($88 a night vs $155 a night) and will not be buying a ticket for me, which saves more money. You also get discounts at select restraunts and PI and other places. Take the time to price out your entire vacation w/ tickets and Hotel vs. entire vacation w/ AP prices and see if it saves you. If yo uare planning to return w/ in the next year then it makes it even more worth it. If you need help w/ prices then PM me.

Beware! Having an annual pass makes you want to go more. I bought APs for the entire family last April and I check airfare regularly to see if we would be able to fly down. We've been in April, July, October, and I'm able to justify a trip in February. We DEFINITELY got our money's worth in room savings, being able to join DDE, and the number of days we spent in the parks. Do it and you'll be sorry - don't do it and you'll be sorry - LOL!

simple...
if you definatly will make 2 seperate trips this year. BUY A PASS.

if you will only go 1 time but may go 2 times. BUY A PASS

If you will only go 1 time for less than 10 days....DONT BUY A PASS

2 trips this year, and MY AP has saved $1,200 total on rooms tickets and dinning.

Also, if you have the AP, you can get the DDE and save 20% on most of your sit down meals (including alcohol). The DDE is $60.00 a year.

Did DDE go up this year? Last year for APs it was $50. Either way, you will get your money back from the cost of the DDE in just a few days if you usually eat in sit down restuarants!

The biggest advantage (other than the discounts) is that you have the freedom to go anytime you want! We bought our APs this year thinking that we would only go for 2 weeks during the year. We have been 16 days so far!!! When we get in town around 5:00pm we can go to the parks without feeling like we are wasting a days ticket! I mean Hey, We can go as much as we want!! We have been much more relaxed and haven't rushed at all since we got them because we know that we are still planning to come back this summer.

But, the best of all is when the announcement went out for the Everest Preview (Jan. 26-29). My husband said "Let's go" and that was that! We are going to drive 12 hours one way, have 24 hours in Orlando including sleeping time, and then drive 12 hours home!! Total time 48 hours to complete the round trip!! I love being able to go literally any time we want!!

Do it, you might just find yourself on some crazy adventure before the year is up!

Thanks everybody... I think I will go for it!! Maybe there will be some incredible discounts on Deluxe resorts... I've never stayed in one before... I am really counting on Poly someday!!

I just bought a voucher this week and it paid for itself just in the savings on the 5-night stay I booked at WL. This is in addition to my park admission already being covered, the DDE card I'm going to buy before my trip, and my park admission for the marathon next year (not counting on a room discount, though it's January 7 so I guess that's always possible).

I was in the same boat. We went in October for MNSSHP and needed 10 day tickets. We spent A LOT of money that trip and adding another $300+ was not the 1st thing on my to do list :rotfl: . As I sat at the ticket window hopelessly going back and forth, I finally just said..OK, give me the AP's. After the paramedics brought DH back, I knew I made the right decision :rotfl:

We saved nearly $900.00 on room's and since we will be going at least once more (probably twice) that amount will easily top the $2000.00 mark with just 1 trip.

You won't regret it, go for it!
