Traveling 3-1 to 3-7 and sports had the only rooms available with a military diacount that was doable in my budget. I have stayed at POP twice and thought it was fine but have read horror stories about buses and noise at the All-Stars. It will be my 2 boys ages 5 and 7 my mom and I in our room. We dont spend much time at the resort but I am still worried. Any room/building suggestions?? TIA

My son (he was 13) and I stayed there June 2015 and really didn't like it much. Negatives: pool (too warm and too much CM led activities), lousy food, small run down rooms. Positives: buses were great! Never ever had to wait long at all. If I was in the same situation next trip where budget was an issue, I would stay there again because it's super affordable.

I'd say to go with a glass half-full kind of attitude and know you'll have a great time. Don't give other resorts another thought and just spend some time on the All Star threads here. You'll learn a lot, and I will also echo what another person said: you can find horror stories about any resort, so try not to let them colour your upcoming vacation.
Have fun!

I stayed there 2 years ago tomorrow actually and we enjoyed it a lot. We are planning on staying there in June. We didn't have much of a wait for the buses. The food court was nice. We didn't go to the pool though. You will find people who have had bad reviews about all the resorts.

I think if you did fine at Pop, you'll do fine here. The buses are equal to anywhere else, IMO, which I think actually runs more/faster at values than at other places many times. As for the noise, I do find it to be more noisy, but no more noisy than any other value, including Pop. So, I always go for the highest floor available, and not near a pool. I pack a white noise maker as well, but that's how I sleep at home; it does help drown out hotel noise.

me too. my sister tells me there is a white noise app for smartphones so no noise maker will be needed.

we stayed at ASSp in 2009 and will be there again in a few weeks. Not my favorite All Star (theming) but our TA had the best deal there. One thing I love is that we can walk over and use the All Star Music and Movies pools :-)

Any and all value resorts can have "issues" I have stayed at Sports, Movies and Pop. I have 2 boys. They loved the theming of Sports. We only had to share buses during the middle of the day. End of day when the parks are emptying out they all have their own! You'll be fine :)

My DS18 and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago for the first time. We didn't request a room, but we were on the first floor of the back side of the surfboard area. It was close to everything, but a couple of nights people came home late at night and chatted outside our room. That was noisy. So, the advice to stay on a higher floor is a good idea.

We didn't use the pool and only ate once at the food court, so I can't comment much on that. The rooms were clean and adequate. The bus system worked well.

I am a DVC member so I usually stay at those properties. This is the second time I've booked a Value resort, and both Pop and *** exceeded my expectations. I also thought the theming was clever.

We stayed at sports in April with my 6 and 8 yrs old sons. They loved the theme and we had a great time...and we were there during a cheer leading crazy week, lol. We did share busses with music and movies sometimes, but sometimes we didn't. It really wasn't a big deal when we did share bc sports is the 1st on and the 1st off. I actually thought it was easier than CBR where there's a bunch of internal bus stops. We were in the basketball section, which was close to the pool, busses, food court areas. We had no issues with the pool or with the food court. My kids are happy for any pool though, lol. We are going back in 30 days (yay!), but chose to go back to POP bc I like the lake and option to go to AOA, but otherwise sports and POP are very similar. You'll have a great time - it's Disney!

Any resort you stay at can have its issue. We tend to be at the parks most of the time so in the end the resort is not the end all be all of our trip. I tend to request a room higher up so I am not at the ground level and can avoid the extra noise from that. If you go in with the right attitude that you are at WDW you will be fine. I am sure you will have a magical time no matter where you stay.

We stayed here in May after several stays at Pop. I know people say all the values are pretty much the same but I felt they were pretty different. In regards to noise they were the same though.

The pros at Sports are they are usually a little cheaper, the cast members were really awesome, smaller resort makes for less walking.

But the first room we got was in awful condition. The walls, the carpet, the tile floor in the bathroom, signs of bed bugs (could have been old) on the mattress and a strong chemical odor in the room. We were moved to another room at my request and the next one was better but still very worn and needed some additional cleaning. Sticky stuff in the table stuff on the wall in the bathroom, smelly fridge. It wasn't enough to ruin our trip but it was enough to make me decide we won't be returning until they get a refurb. Buses weren't great but not the worst either. There were large groups of school tours there that made for some very long waits at the bus line. Food court was just okay.

There were others with similar complaints while we were there but you can read recent reviews where guests loved it too. Things like a bad room or housekeeping can be hit or miss at most resorts too.

we recently stayed at all star music and had a blast!!! it was our first time at a value and it was complete with all the Disney magic I could hope for. no complaints at all :) have fun!

We stayed here once because we needed transportation for a Disney race and I didn't pay close enough attention to which resorts had the transportation. I was expecting to hate it and we actually liked it better than POP or AOA. We thought the buses were excellent! We never had to wait more than a few minutes. The food court was decent and it was not nearly as crowded as POP. This resort is smaller than some of the other values, so it didn't seem like much of a walk to anything. I would stay here again.

We've stayed at ASMO twice (liked it a lot) and we're booked at ASSP for next year. A friend of mine stayed there last year, she's stayed at all the All Stars and she preferred Sports to all of them. She said the Surf's Up pool was great, the food court was more than adequate with a lot of choices, and the bus transportation was fine. i guess it all depends on your standards and expectations - not to say our standards are low, but some people just prefer a little "more" out of their resorts. For us, All Stars are fine since we are really not at the room for that long and can't justify spending more money for a moderate! I don't think there is anything to worry about!

Any resort can have noisy neighbors, too. When we were at the Poly, there was this family that needed a MUTE button, badly, on both ends of the day.

Screaming in closed hallways? NOPE.

Loud people nearby is luck of the draw, and pricier resorts are as likely to have screamers as cheap ones. If anything, an exterior hallway like at an All-Star helps with the noisy people.

I prefer Sports over Pop - smaller resort means less walking, and I liked the food options a little better there too.

Agreed with everyone else here. You can find issues with any resort. We've stayed at All-Star Music a few years ago, and we stayed at All-Star Sports last year. We are ALSO staying at All-Star Sports in December. It's our favorite of all the All-Stars. First in line for bus pick up and drop off is reason enough to like it!

It is what it is. It's a value resort. We've stayed at Moderates before as well, but when expenses are tight, we'll take a value anytime. We really only sleep in the room, and don't actually spend too much time otherwise at the resort, but we'd rather put the money elsewhere.

Go and enjoy. Don't sweat it!
