Converting webcertificates into Disney Dollars

I cashed in MyPoints to get a $10 webcertificate. Somewhere on these boards is a post on how to use this at the Disney Store to purchase Disney Dollars. That thread is the reason I did this and now I cannot find that thread! There is a $7 charge to convert the webcertificate to a plastic card and that would defeat the purpose. What I need to know is WHAT did the person print out to take to the Disney Store with them. She stated that she did this 6 times...so it must be possible. I just need to know what to take with me as there is no printable certificate.

If you go to the webcertificate site and sign in. On the bottom of the page you have the little colorful bar that shows your cc account number, expiration date, the special 3 digit code and your balance. Just hit the print button on your computer and print out what is on your screen.

I have never actually done this but I know that several of the RP'ers have and have not had any problems. I have called and had the amount of my webbie applied to my room deposit. I did it twice last year. Once with only $10 and another time for the same room with $25. Just wanted to let you know you could also do that if you have trouble at the DS.

that has made a copy of the webcerifiticate page and bought $DD
just as mazzarafe said.

Its easy and saves $7!!! (which takes forever to earn.)

the CM usually asks for ID a drivers license is all it takes!!

A funny thing happened the last time I did this just a few weeks ago. The CM called there automated MC just to verify the account was really there and the amount. no problem. so she goes to ring it up and it declines!!!! no one could get it to go through it alwasy came up declined!!! so when I got home I checked my balance and it said zero!!!! I thought oh great!!!!
so I called web certificates and they said the CM when she called to verify got it to authorized the balance!!! as if she couldn'nt get the card to go through and called to get authorization!!!

SO I called the store and talked to the main store manager and he just told me to stop by the next day and he could get the override the register!!

I though I had lost my $10!!!
but everything worked out just fine

I just called the dineystore customer service number and placed my order for a GC over the phone. Used the webcert as credit card.

Of course, this would be discussed the very day I spend the seven bucks on the card! I got my very first Webcertificate in my email today, and turned right around and called them for the card, not realizing I could print it out and get Disney Dollars or call and apply it to my reservation. Oh well, live and learn!

I like having my plastic since I receive my Webbies from Chase i-Card, memolink, mypoints etc. So they add up.

I use the plastic for film, developing, sunblock, etc. You know- all the little extras that nickel and dime you to death on a vacation!

I enjoy having the plastic card as well. It was well worth my initial investment of $5. a couple of years ago. Every time it's about to expire, they send me a new one too.

I just used my card at the DS to buy $25. in DD and I had no problems at all!

I love the card also. I've used it to pay for meals at Beaches & Cream and Cape May. It's easy to be able to use it as a "credit card" anywhere I want.

Well, I printed out the webpage with the information and took it to the DS in Bridgewater Commons (NJ). Nothing on Earth would make them let me use my certificate without the plastic card. And believe me, I tried my very best, with the biggest smile and friendliest attitude a CM has ever seen! I even got them to call another store for authorization (with no luck)...and even mentioned that I "knew" others who had used them this way without problems. But...to no avail! Perhaps if I could have told them which DS honored this certicate they could've called that store...but alas, I had no idea. MAYBE I'll hang on to this and try a different DS. Can anyone tell me of a store in north Jersey that WILL honor this? I really, reeeaaaallly want to turn this into Disney Dollars if I can.

I have an additional question: Once you get the plastic card, you just keep adding points/money to that same one? In other words, you only pay the fee once right? I have wanted to do this, but the website is just not very informative in my opinion. Can you just type in the number on your card when you request it or what?

Yup you can. When I receive my webbie from chase each month, I can either click on a link, or go directly to www.webcertificate.com and enter the code for redemption. It works the same way with all the email reward redemptions from mypoints, etc. They have a code and regardless of whose name it comes in, the account/card owner just has to log into their webcertificate and go to the 'Get It' section and redeem the code in the e-mail.
