Please help! If anyone knows....We bought all of our park hopper tickets last year before MYW. Can we change our 4 day park hopper to a MYW ticket?? Has anyone done this? I've called CR and they don't seem to know! We are leaving next week for a 3 night stay at the GF and going back in June for 7 nights and would like to convert our park hopper to MYW to get more bang for our buck!! Please help! :confused3

yes you can.. We just did it last week.. We had bought 5 day park hoppers from TDS in November for our trip in Janaury. A friend who is going in the next couple weeks had researched to MYW tickets and told me what a good buy the 10 hoppers were. I had overheard someone while we were at Disney talking about the tickets so I checked it out myself. In order to upgrade you have to go to guest services at the entrace of one of the parks. We turned in our 5 day park hoppers from TDS and purchased a 10 day MYW with hopper and no expiration option for an additional $364.. I guess I should clarify... That is for two adults and one child. So, I got an additonal 5 days for $364.. That is way less than I paid for the first 5 days! So, I have just secured at least two more trips!! Yahoo!

I hope this makes sense!

Yes, it makes sense! Thanks, that is what I've been wondering! I plan on doing the same with my 4 day park hopper. Thanks for the info...only 4 more days to go! YEAH! :Pinkbounc

I did the same thing last week also! I think it is such a bargain! We turned in our 4 day ph plusses and got the 10 day MYW. While it was a bit more money upfront, the four of us each got 6 additional days plus 5 plus visits for I think an additional $680 (somewhere in the ball park)! With the plus options, its like getting 10 additional park days if you use the water parks. We went to the guest service desk at Magic Kingdom (as you enter the gate to the left) and the CM was awesome. He credited us the full gate price for our 4 day ph/+ instead of the discounted price I paid at Hotwire. He said he thinks that this might be a short lived thing once Disney realizes that people may actually be benefitting from it. For us, it means that another trip or 2 is already paid for. Anyway hope this helps, Patty

You still make out better dollar wise -- especially if the old passes have plusses -- by paying all cash for the new 10 day pass and using the old pass as-is later. You still get the second 5 days for way less than the first 5 days.

Except do not buy a shorter new pass for use during the same vacation as an old pass.

Did you get the park hopping and non/expire options on your 10 day MYW?

I changed over our Dream Maker Silver Plus plan to MYW Plus Dining earlier this month and it wound up saving me $500 that used to up the stay from 5 days to 7 days. Well worth it!

Had you used any of the days on your park hoppers? Did you have the plus option added to your MYW passes? Just trying to figure out the numbers...

Gate price for adult 10 day MYW with park hopping, non/expire times 2 688.00. Plus gate price for child 10 day MYW with park hopping, non/expire 302.00. Total 990.00

Gate price for 5 day same adult MYW pass times 2, 526.00. Plus gate price for child same MYW pass 225.00. Total 751.00

990.00 less 751.00 = 239.00

Now I haven't included tax, but that still wouldn't come out to the $364 you paid. I agree, you got a great deal in the exchange as far as number of days go!~:p~

Not yet. Additional info is required:

What was the total original investment?
What portion of the original investment went towards the child park hopper?
What portion of the additional $364. covered the child 10 day MYW?

Okay.. let me give the numbers. It may not come out exaclty because I do not have the original receipt with me right now...

I do remember out original 5 day hopper, which was bought at The Disney Store (not MYW) was approx $650ish or so... I know in the $600's for sure.

So, with that said my calculations based on mousesavers.com prices for MYW is as follows:

ADULT: $221.52 - base CHILD: $177.86 - base
35.00 - hopper option 35.00 - hopper option
100.00 - no expire 100.00 - no expire

TOTAL: $356.52 $312.86

2 Adults @ $356.52 = 713.04
1 Child 312.86

Total $1025.90

Since I do not have the original total from my 5 day hoppers from TDS.. I subtracted the $364 (give or take $1 or two) from $1025.90 and came up with $661.90 for original purchase.. Now, when we were making the upgrade at Guest Services the CM mentioned that it would take a few minutes because we purchased the original tickets at a discounted rate from TDS she wanted to make sure that she applied that discount to our new tickets.

I hope these calculations help somewhat and I am not sure I will be able to be any more specific than this. When the CM told us the total - we did not question it because it was better than we thought it would be. I just keep thinking that for an additional $364 - I got 5 more days each for 2 adults and 1 child...

You may want to consider using the WDW Ticket Cost Analyzer. I created it specifically for situations such as those mentioned in this thread. Hope it helps!

On Jan 4th, I tried to change my 5 day PH passes to 6 day MYW passes with hopping features and expiration. The new 6 day passes would have been cheaper. The CM said his computer wouldn't let him do it. He said I would have had to add something to the MYW passes to make them more expensive than the 5 day PH tickets (like plusses or non expiring). I told him I didn't want any of that and could I just have the 6 day passes and I wouldn't ask for a refund of the money...just like an even exchange. He said he couldn't do that. I asked for a manager. The manager told me I had to upgrade to like tickets...that is, since my PH ticket was nonexpiring, I had to add non expiring to my MYW ticket.

By now it was 7:30pm and EPCOT was closing at 10pm. The CM just ended up comping us 1 day tickets to get into EPCOT that night.

And to make this all more complicated. I had 5 5 day PH passes and I wanted 6 MYW tickets. I just assumed they would have taken the amount of money I paid for the 5 day PH passes, then applied that to 6 MYW passes...NOPE! They said they could only upgrade one ticket into one more. kwim?

Since this happened at the beginning of January, I'm hoping they worked all the "kinks" out by now and all the CM's know what are the rules for exchanging tickets.

I had no problems changing my plans over at all. Went smoothly. Sorry to hear you had troubles.

I'm so confused! My parents have 2 days left on their PH tix from last year. They are coming with us this fall. How much (approx) would they have to pay to upgrade to a 7 day MYW PH??? Just trying to get them the best deal possible?

Tracy :confused3

Need 7 days and have 2 days left on an old ticket.

Best deal: Buy a new 7 day expiring pass or a 10 day non-expiring pass, and save the 2 day remains for a yet future trip.

Worst deal: Use the 2 day remains and buy a 5 day pass for the rest of the upcoming trip.

A good in between deal but might not be available at this time: Trade in the 2 day remains for a 7 day expiring pass.

This in between deal is definitely available but not as good as the previous: Trade in the 2 day remains for a 10 day non-expiring pass.

Your old pass is worth what it is worth. You have no choice as to how much more you need to spend, unless you want to forego hopping or buy/not buy plusses.

Thanks. From these numbers I conclude that anybody can, for an additional $364, get 5 more days each for 2 adults and 1 child without turning in any old hoppers.

I don't believe the aprox. $650ish for one 5 day hopper. That's a horrendous ripoff.
