Converting multi-day pass+GAD=Deluxe AP?

I believe I am correct that you can convert a multi-day pass, add to it the value of an unused GAD pass, plus the add'l amount needed to get an AP. Here is my scenerio and question: There will be four of us going in September. Three of us have GAD. We want to convert the tickets for the THREE of us (not all four) to APs. My question is, can the money used for the fourth person (who doesn't have a GAD and doesn't want an AP) be used towards the other three peoples additional money that would be needed to convert to an AP? :confused3 Hope that makes sense!:thumbsup2

I'm going to say no, since tickets are not transferable.

From what I understand:

*You can use your GAD on your first day and enter the park, then use your unused park hoppers with that GAD to upgrade to an AP. This only works if the value of your GAD + the value of your hoppers is less than or equal to the value of an AP. I think you're fine there; you just have to pay the difference.

*Person 4 has a hopper and it's completely non-transferrable. If you're lucky maybe you could possibly manage to get a refund before it's used, but then Person 4 couldn't get in the park, of course.

As I understand it, you also CANNOT add your GAD to a partly-used hopper, but the unused hoppers in theory transfer like cash added to the AP.

Have a great trip!

Wow, that wasn't my understanding! I thought I read that I should, on the last day of my multi-day pass, go with my unused GAD and trade them up (plus any add'l $$) to get an AP. Now, it seems that you are recommending that I have to make the purchase/transaction BEFORE using the multi-day pass? Do I do that at a ticket counter at the park BEFORE going in?? :confused3

Thanks!

From the FAQs on the DL website:

May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket?

Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value within the applicable upgrade window. However, you are responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by you. No changes or refunds will be given. The value of the free ticket may not be used to combine or upgrade with a separate single or multi-day ticket.

With that being said, I have read from another poster that they were allowed to combine their parkhopper (unused I believe), with the GAD voucher towards the AP. It probably depends on the CM.

We were unable to combine our multi-day hoppers with our GAD tickets. Our first day was one of the few GAD blackouts, so it was either miss a day of our trip (we couldn't adjust the end date) or go with plan B and get the ear pin collectable piece. We did the second.
