Is there ANY way to do this? My son has video clips on a MACbook that he needs to get on his PC to edit into a movie for a class. He has not been able to find a converter that will convert them. The MAC he is using has ICON/CODEC files. Anybody know anything about this kind of thing?

Are you talking about iMovie videos? They are in the .mov format. Don't they play on Windows Media Player?

Have your DS seek out the 'computer coordinator' at their school, hopefully they can help. Unfortunately most transcoder applications are not 'free'.

A media teacher worthy of their salary would be able to handle this, But please do not get me started on how many Government School teachers are completely unqualified for the posts they hold.

Full disclosure my DW is a teacher and the stories she tells make my hair stand on end and she gets to pick up the pieces from the damage the unqualified teachers do.

I am not sure what DS used, but he finally got it converted. It really was not the teacher's fault. He could have done this all at school, on their MACS that have Final Cut software, but after his files got deleted, he chose to do it at home. Good news is he finished and turned his project in on time.
