Due to some issues during our 2007 trip, I recieved five 5-day park hoppers which don't expire until 2050. They are obviously the old fashioned paper tickets and state they are non-transferable with no upgrades. We plan on taking a family trip next August, so what are my options for converting these tickets? I live in NY and won't be back in FL until this next trip, I have friends in FL however. I refuse to wait until day 1 of the trip as we will then lose out on all FP+ options. Any thoughts? Can my friend convert them into hard tickets at the TTC for me? Thanks!

1. I see no need to "convert them" to get advance FP+.
The way I see it, ither you can make advance FP+ reservations using these tickets, as-is,
or you can't get advance FP+ using them at all (whether they are paper tickets or plastic.)

2. See #1.

Try putting the ticket numbers into your MyDisneyExperience account.
If that doesn't work, call the WDW IT dept. at 407-939-3471 or 407-939-7849 and see if they can do it for you.

Once you arrive at WDW, then you can convert the tickets to plastic RFID tickets for use
at the parks.

There is an option in MDE to add them. There is a step by step guide for each ticket type.

Almost all tickets issued prior to 2005 (other than Length of Stay, Bounce Back, or Annual Passes) had no expiration. This includes both the major park entries and the minor park plus options. Exceptions include the World Hopper and Super Duper Pass; for these ticket all WPF&M entries expired seven days from first use, although the major park entries remained valid.

At the current time any prior passes are valid at all four of the major parks, even if one or more of the parks did not exist when the ticket was issued. A Park Hopper Plus, which was issued during the time that Disney Quest was open did not include Disney Quest as an entry; accordingly, the Park Hopper Plus still cannot be used for entry to Disney Quest. Additionally, the Park Hopper Plus cannot be used for either of the miniature golf courses or for the 30 minutes at the PlayStation Pavilion at WWS. But it can be used for the water parks, Oak Trail Golf and entry to WWS.

If a prior ticket, unused or partially used, was not on stock with a magnetic stripe, or the magnetic stripe was demagnetized, you can get the tickets replaced at no charge at any park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. Note that this cannot be done at Resort Lobby Concierge locations as they do not have full access to the ticketing computer.

I briefly looked at the "everything about WDW Tickets" sticky at the top of this forum and this was the closest I found in short time - it's referring to tickets before 2005, but since they're paper, I thought it may apply. Looks to me like you could ask your friends to take them to TTC or any park gate, but not resorts, and get them converted to electronic media you could then link to MDE.

Might be worth a call to disney, though, to see if there's any serial number or anything on the paper that can be entered into MDE without a special trip. The ticket sticky also said this:

If you have a partially used pre-MYW ticket it cannot be upgraded, but the remaining entitlements can be used. If the ticket has become demagnetized, as long as the serial number string is readable a replacement ticket, with the same remaining entitlements, can be issued.

Thank you, thank you!! I went on the site and followed the steps and my type of ticket was one of the ones listed so I can add them! Man I love this website, you guys seriously know everything!! Thanks again!!

Glad it worked out.

just to add to the thread, we just converted some non expiring '08 KTTW tickets to the new system. We just called the disney ticket # above and a very helpful CM did everything for us. He did stress that we visit guest services before entering a park our first day, so they could prioritize when the non expiring passes would be used. within minutes we could see them on MDE.
We purchased tickets for this trip when we booked our resort.
