converting AMEX to Starwood points

Does anyone know what the convertion rate is going from AMEX to Starwood points? I can't get it to calculate on the AMEX site.
Also does anyone know anything about the offer from starwood opening a AMEX and getting up to 3 nights at a Starwood room....how does that convert at the Swan and Dolphin?

Looks like 1000 MR points = 333 Starwood Points.

That is the equivalent of one free night at the Swan or Dolphin, which requires 10,000 points per night for a free stay. The footnote to the "up to 3 free nights" says:

Starpoints® required for a free night range from 2,000 Starpoints for a weekend night at a Category 1 hotel to 25,000 Starpoints for a night at most Category 6 hotels For complete information on reward stays, visit www.spg.com.

Thanks....I would prefer 3 free nights at Swan or Dolphin ...oh well so much for too good to be true!!! However...one night would be nice!

10,000 points can get you 3 free nights at a lower category hotel (ie Four Points). And 1 free night at the Swan or Dolphin! Hey, better than nothing!
