Has anyone every been at one of the disney resort hotels and actually have a room near a famous person
or
been seated in a restaurant next to a famous person
or
hung around the pool with a famous person
etc....

ME ME!!! I was at tHe Yacht and Beach club, I was comming back from the restroom and saw my Dh making a sand castle thing with my DD and a little boy and a really cute blonde girl as I got closer I realised it was Kelli Ripa!! I Acted cool!! (wanted to yell You are sooo pretty but stopped myself!!):D
Then Her husband walked up Mark and WOW he is sooo gorgeous~! (My hubby is just as good looking IMHO:D)
Anyways we were talking (I never said I knew who she was) and she needed sunscreen so I went and got mine she used it on her son then I went to grab it back from her and she told me to "sit down" and she went and put it with my stuff!! She and Mark were extremely nice!!
I have seen alot of other stars on our stays also but non that I talked too.

I remember reading on these boards many months back about someone who SAW Sela Ward at the Gasparilla Grill at the GF :Pinkbounc

But I don't recall if they, gasp, actually SPOKE with her.

The GF is a great place for spotting celebs, since it's the flagship resort (Oprah and Princess Di are just two well known guests). Also -- here's a tip -- they have SCADS of weddings there, and many are attended by two larger-than-usual mice. It's not unusual to see them flitting through the lobby, or skipping down the stairs, with their handler in tow, headed to a reception somewhere, all dressed up in their Sunday best. Very cute.

Personally, my wife and I once sat just ONE TABLE AWAY from Bill Cosby at a restaurant in New York, and I could barely eat all night, because EVERY time I lifted the fork I saw HIM. I didn't want him to think I was STARING, so I keep looking away. I'm SURE he thought I was NUTS. But that WAS pretty kewl. :smooth:

That was me who saw and spoke to Sela (we're on a first name basis now). She was really nice (and good looking!)

A few years ago, I was staying at a hotel in Toronto, and lo and behold, Henry Winkler (The Fonz) was on the elevator with my cousins and I. Of course I had to ask front desk who he wa, but that was about my only run in with a celeb at a hotel or restaurant.

Hehe, this was a regular occurance for some folks, but I saw Hulk Hogan. (If you don't know who this is, may you be blessed with the knowledge soon.) I was 9, and visiting for the first time. He was filming the syndicated show "Thunder in Paradise." He was so sweet and generous to all the kids who were harassing him.;) (this was in the Morrocco part of Epcot, and there was a bit of congestion);).

So anyways, that's mine.

P.S. - I had secretly hoped to see Chris Lemmon (the late great Jack Lemmon's son) since he was on the same show, but alas, I didn't. (He was one of my very first crushes too. :() hehe. (I work on Film sets now, and live in L.A. so it's pretty common, but it was rare to see a "star" in WDW. ;))

Hi all!

It was not at WDW but close to it..I used to work for the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress there..

John Travolta used to frequently go to "Hemingways" for dinner- (he used to live in Longwood opposite side of Orlando)

Bill Murray has also been there a few times..( heard he was an unpleasant , and obnoxious person)

I never spoke to either but saw them..

I did however get to meet Jermaine Jackson several times during his stay , he was very very nice and always sat in my section

Patrick O'Neal ,the actor , was there for an extended stay ( his son worked at the hotel) and he was very nice , and quite funny.

Saw Janet Jackson passing in the employee entrance hall and she said hello ,

My favorite one though was Joey Gian ..he was detective Tom Ryan pn Knotts landing , and he has been in monies and seems now is a songwriter singer..Anyways, I was having my hair done in the salon at HRGC and talking to the gal doing my hair and saw that she had an autographed picture up of him above her mirror. I said something sappy about how absolutely gorgeous he was and how I never missed Knotts Landing because of him ...just going on and on about him..she starts giggling and then the male hairdresser next to her starts laughing,,I thought they were making fun of me..turns out the male hairdresser(who I had known for a long time ) is Joeys father... so one day when I am out working at the pool I hear some body asking the bartender if i am working today ...you guessed it Joey Gian ..I was so embarrassed , he was visitin ghis dad and he sent him down , and I am sure that he probably told Joey every word I had said by the look on his face!

anyways, Ihave gone on too long here !!

just my experiences

I live in southern california, and a good friend of mine invited me to dinner with her boss, her boss being Dustin hoffman, so it was me my friend, dustin and his wife at a table of four. Hes an interesting character, afterwards we went to a film festival where we were his guests, and then I had no idea but he was the guy hosting the whole thing so he was introduced and then went up on stage. It was weird cause he recieved a standing ovation and I was sitting next to him.
Hes the one "star" that I have sat with for a long period of time, we see a lot of people in passing while shopping and eating out in LA, ate next to paul walker at this one place. Jennifer Anniston was at a restaraunt also, and we saw Jay-Z at the Beverly Center. Oh and I am a server at a restaraunt and waited on Emilio Estevez, think I spelled his name right.
At WDW we saw some soap stars that I had no idea who they were but my girlfriend did.
Thats all I can think of right now... =)

DW and I went to WDW last Dec. for the "Live With Regis And Kelly Show" and WWTBAM show, taped at MGM. We were on a package program. Included in the package, was lunch with Kelly, at the GF. About 125 people were at the luncheon. Kelly came to each table and talked to us and had a professional photo taken with her. She couldn't have been nicer and is very attractive. She is a big boxing fan and I am a professional boxing judge. We talked boxing and they had to drag her away from our table, so she could visit with others.

We have seen other celebrites at WDW, but didn't talk to them.
We did watch Hulk Hogan and Chris Lemon film the "Thunder In Paradise" show at the GF. That was very interesting.

Alex and Billy Baldwin were staying at our hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii, and Alex came into our concierge room while we were having breakfast. It was quite funny. He went up to the lovely Hawaiian girl who was manning the concierge desk and asked her to check their tee time. She looked up and very sweetly said, "Your name sir?" He was quite taken aback and abruptly said "BALDWINSZZZ" Of course she knew very well who he was as after just a couple of days at the resort, he was already throwing his weight around. His dear brother Billy (while traveling in the company of his wife) hit on a "twenty something" who was contracted to build sand castles with a Sand Castle company. He gave her his phone number and suggested that when she got back to L.A. "the three of them (wife included) could get together for a good time". Personally I am glad that the great "bloviator's" career is on the skids and the best old Alex can do is Hollywood Squares.

Many years ago I was in line at EPCOT with Sonny from General Hospital.

Met and spoke with Barry Bonds at MK last year.

Ran into Markie Post in the lobby of the Grand Floridian many years ago. (Yes, ran into. LOL)

Well I sat next to Stevie Wonder at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Was in line behind Chris Isaak in line for Splash Mountain.

Other than at Disney locations I have run into stars of movie and sports growing up because my uncle (George Seifert) was with the San Francisco 49ers from 1981-1996 and was head coach from 1989-1996 than the head coach for the Carolina Panthers from 1999-2001. Huey Lewis shared a box suite with my family and Danny Glover was a regular to the games. I won’t even begin to name off everyone that was at the Super Bowl parties!!!

I thought they said they were going to move out of the US when "W" became pres...

Anyway, apropos to the thread, I ran into Mickey Morandini who played second base for the Phillies, Cubs (yuck) and Blue Jays at the McDonalds in DD. He was real nice. Then my wife spotted Chip Caray who is the Cubs announcer at MK on our last trip in Feb. He was kind of a dork.

When we were down at WDW in June, we were over in Tommorowland. As usual, I was about 10 paces ahead of my wife and daughter. I noticed passing me on my left an important looking CM (you can tell, they wear ties and have walkie talkies, etc.). With the CM were two young ladies. It took me a moment but then it occurred to me that one of the young ladies was Tara Lapinski, the ice skater. They were walking rather fast and before I could turn around and let my wife and daughter know, they were gone. I figure Tara and her friend were getting a personal guided tour of MK and were probably heading towards Space Mountain.

My DH ran into Kelly Ripa TWICE last year when we were staying at AKL. The first time he being the goof that he is said "Aren't you the lady who is on tv with Regis?", she said yes and chatted for a moment with him. He said she had her son with her and at the time she was pregnant with her little girl. He ran into her in the halls again later but I missed her both times! I was so bummed!

I saw them when Monica's boyfriend was president. I would have been happy to take up a collection for the Baldwins and Barbra Streisand to move however but they all seemed to have developed amnesia...

My husband ran into John Travolta at the 14th Floor of the Contemporary last Februray. John has flown in for the day to see the fireworks. My DH spoke with him for a few minutes and said he was very pleasant - not stuck up in the least.

My DH (then BF) found himself in the gym late one night with Harrison Ford. They shook hands and took a hot tub together. ( this sounds worse than it is). Harry (to all his close friends, like us) was very shy(or maybe he was scared being alone w/DH, he bodybuilds and was quite large). Nice guy though!
