conversed with famous people?

In Nov, 2000 DSO and I took our nephew to Disney to celebrate his 7th birthday. We were fortunate to get the Illuminations birthday cruise, so our boat was decorated with balloons, we had lots of cake etc. Well, our boat was in position under the bridge and I noticed that the boat next to us had small children on it, so we offered them cake (politely refused). It wasn't until after the show that our boat driver identified the group in the other boat. It was Brad Maule, better known to soap watchers as Dr. Tony Jones on General Hospital. He waved as his boat went back past us and had joined the crowds in singing Happy Birthday to my nephew.

I saw them when Monica's boyfriend was president. I would have been happy to take up a collection for the Baldwins and Barbra Streisand to move however but they all seemed to have developed amnesia...

I guess the Baldwins figured they can make it til 2004 since this guy looks like he is going be a one-termer like his pop.

Oh wait a minute, is it inappropriate for me to make political asides in this thread? Well, I thought I'd get in a shot for the other team before the moderators step in.

;)

I sat at a table next to Julia Child at breakfast at the Admiral Fell Inn in Baltimore, MD last fall. When we were checking out, she was having her luggage brought in - actually carted in on many carts. I have to guess she had a lot of cooking equipment in her luggage. ;)

I also ran into Cynthia Nixon (Miranda on Sex and the City) on the Streets of Manhattam last fall. She was walking with her daughter.

This second week in July we were ont eh Peter Pan ride and Small World ride the same time as Michael Jackson. We were very every close to him. We were next to get on a boat after him. He looked up at my daughter and said hello to her.

A few years ago, I was at a dog show that Mary Tyler Moore was at. She used to show dogs at the time. Had a brief conversation with her about dogs. Didn't even mention that I knew who she was. She was very nice. She was with hubby too.

In 1970 I ran into Lee Marvin in a bookstore in Aspen, Colorado. We were on opposite sides of a revolving book rack. He'd spin it, and I'd stop it. I'd spin it, and he'd stop it.
At the same time, we both looked around the rack to see who was on the other side. My jaw dropped. I said 'Hi Mr. Marvin, how are you?'. He laughed and said; 'Fine kid. (I was 18) Did you find what you're looking for?' I replied that I had, told him I loved his work, took my copy of 'Catch 22', and headed for the checkout.
That guy was truly larger than life.

Guess November at Soap Star weekend is a great time to star gaze. We had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, and Bobbi from General Hospital (Jackie Z...?) was at the next table over.

DH ran into Jeff Foxworthy years ago at Blockbuster. He was in town doing a show at a local comedy club and he was renting videos for his daughter to watch. Stood there and talked to him for about 5 minutes. Then when hubby told him we had tickets to see him that night told him that after the show he would be happy to stop for a picture. Right when the camera snapped a patron that had a little to much to drink, bumped into my husband. Have a wonderful picture of the floor. It was the last frame in the camera. But, I did get to talk to him and he was an extremely nice guy.
