Conventions at S/D

Is there any way to tell if you will be getting in on the convention crowds at the S/D. I am kind of flexible with dates at the Dolphin, and would like to avoid a big crowd if possible. Will they tell you at the front desk if you call?

Most hotels will not disclose conventions that are booked at their resort. It's a privacy issue. You have to get that information from the group who has booked the event.

However, you could do a search on the web for the dates/month you are interested in and see what comes up. You could search on "January 2003 Swan Dolphin Disney Convention Conference" for example and it might bring up some of the events that will be taking place. There is almost always an event taking place at the WDW convention hotels. However, you were wondering about very large groups and these may come up by doing searches.

This is a search engine on a trade show industry magazine's website; use "Lake Buena Vista" for the city to search for the Swan & Dolphin. Hope this helps!

Thanks, nothing for my dates at S/D so far. I'll do another search closer to my vacation.

After doing a yahoo search, I found there is a school resource officers national convention from June 30 to July 4th. I'm not sure how many will be there. On the one hand, there are tons of school districts with these officers, but from my experience, they are almost always affiliated with the local police department. They may not want to go to this convention.


I went to the trade show web site, and nothing came up when I searched for Swan and/or Dolphin, but a few came up with just the date and Lake Buena Vista.
