Convention tickets

Does anyone know any thing about these?

Do they check for proof of attendance at the park entrace?

Are these the same tickets they are selling on e-bay?

I almost bought one off of e-bay, till I found this llink to Disney's site. I would shure hate to buy one either from ebay or disney, and not get to use them.

They check your group name - so if you are not with a convention I don't think you will get the tickets. Just like wedding tickets - you have to have the Bride and Groom's names to get the tickets.

It says that these tickets can be used any time before 12/31/04 and expire 10 days after use.

I will be in the World for a week next month. A friend will be coming to visit for 2 days. I am trying to find her the best deal I can.

I just got my tickets last week thru that site. We'll be in Orlando this summer for a karate tournament.

When you order, they ask for your group name, where you'll be located and where you personally will be staying. They also ask for your dates.

You get an order confirmation email but it is only a confirmation that you requested the passes. Disney reserves the right to cancel any unshipped order. It took a few days for me to get an email saying that the tickets were being mailed out. I got the feeling that they were checking to make sure that the group I named actually existed and was going to be where I said it would be, when I said it would be there.

We had convention tickets two years ago when we were in Orlando with the same group. We were never asked to produce convention ID at the gate but we were aware that doing so is at Disney's discretion. Personally, I wouldn't chance doing it. Too much money at risk.

Thank you all for your help. I just called 407-wdisney and let them know my friend was coming. They added her to my site for free, and said that when she arrived she could puchase an ultimate Park hopper for the 2 days she would be there for 137.00. This was much easier and better than mucking about on e-bay!!
