Hi All,

I have a question for the list.

Is there a conveinence store where you can buy soda and such within walking distance from the Disney Terminal.

We will be flying into Orlando early on the day of our cruise, we have Disney transfers and was wondering if there was a store which I could walk to to get some soda and snacks to take on board. We really don't want to pack these items in our luggage.

Thanks as always to these boards and members, you are the best and provide a wealth of information.

If not at the port... where would be a good place to stop close to the port (on the way from airport)?

Sorry, there <i>ain't <b>nuthin'</b></i> within walking distance of the cruise terminal. But if you're driving to the port or taking a towncar service, the easiest place to stop for groceries is Publix. Their new Cocoa Commons store is just off the SR-524 exit. As you're traveling on SR-528 towards the port, SR-524 is the first exit east of I-95. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right. The Publix is right in front of you.

This is the perfect place to stock up on the munchies, sodas, beer, and wine that you plan to carry onboard.

since we dont drink wine, beer or anything and I have NO idea how to do it! LOL HOw pathetic is that??? Do you bring another piece of luggage and check it with the porters as well?? Do you just carry on 12 packs of coke with you?? Someone give me some tips! I have a feeling that if I have to pack it in my suitcase I will fail because we are trying to pack all 5 of us into 2 suitcases for a 10 day trip including time before and after at WDW and I dont really think I will have much room to spare and I dont really want to pull out my underwear to pack cans of coke in the parking lot at the local 7-11 you know?? LOL I have a collapsible cooler that I bought at our local Walmart on sale and I got it for 5 dollars so I plan to bring that with me in my luggage but how do I actually get the soda on the ship?? We are using yourride.net and Rabbit told me he would stop at the store if we reminded them for no additional charge for 30 min but I am at a loss. Do I send an empty luggage on the airplane...someone clue this clueless broad in! LOL

Thanks!
Heidi

I am a real "thrifty" person, but I would go for the$35.00 soda cups they will sell on board. Unlimited COLD refills, no tipping, and always given with a smile!:p

For those who drink beer, the $10.00 ESPN beer stein gives you and extra 6 ounces for the price of 6 ounces. (?, not sure of the amounts, but my DH thought it was a great deal!

You will be on vacation, you can't go the cheap way all the time, you are on the ship to be pampered!!

Have fun!:Pinkbounc

Just a word to the wise...we brought some packs of soda/water on board last year and had just put it in a big beach bag type. We couldn't close it and the porter did comment that he wouldn't take it if it couldn't be closed. My DH "tipped" him and he took it! Now we know, and next year will be better prepared w/ a duffle bag that closes....just for our carry on drinks....
