Having been in a state of semi - permanent doziness, inhabiting an mental scape akin to the notion of limbo, I have not exactly been the most noisy poster on these boards of late. Imagine my surprise upon my return to the hectic clamour of... nothing. Dead dull nothing.
Now we have two options to consider. Either (1) that life without me placed all other DISers into a state of shock so acute that they all fell unconscious or (2) that pending the verdict on the Eisner file, all other major news and rumour discussions are of little interest to the majority. With the exception, of course, of one or two

I plump, possibly in error, for option two.
Now in an effort to cause a bit of controversy and perhaps bring about a bit of a revelation, I present you with the following problem. Namely:
The Walt Disney company, being in debt for a variety of reasons, is now faced with the challenge of raising funds. Since investment would be hard to justify, cost cutting seems like the most likely path.
Many DISers loathe the idea of this. So do I.
Even though it is good business sense, it feels... wrong. But the alternative may eventually be a hostile takeover. I was wondering if, given the choice, anyone here would be willing to opt for the dissolution of Disney, leaving it as a great legacy and memory, rather than watch it become cheap and crass, just another brand name.
I'm not saying that the choice will ever present itself, or that it is likely to do so. I'm a student of law, not an economist / investment banker / clever person.
So say what you think. I know there's the temptation to reply saying "I chose option three, Disney never being taken over and becoming super healthy again". But that's not what this is about. I'm curious as to what people here would chose faced with a decision between the company continuing, void of magic, or the company dissolving, the magic living on.
The choice is yours.
