Controlling brain cancer tumor with low carb/calorie diet

My father was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. He has had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. And will soon be starting radiation and chemo. My question is has anyone heard of or had any experience with a low carbohydrate diet for brain cancer? Would like to treat this from every angle possible to help slow and reduce the size of the tumor. Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your dad, this must be a terribly distressing time for your family

I don't know anything about the diet but I would talk to the specialists your dad is seeing as I imagine they would have access to any relevant studies.

Best wishes to your family and especially your dad as he prepares for surgery.

I followed a high protein, low carb and calorie diet to help me rehab from a stroke in December. Anthing else did not provide me with enough energy to tackle anything. I hope it works for your Dad's cancer!

Do a search for "sugar and cancer". Lots of new research points to a link. I don't know that a low carb diet so much as a clean food, non-processed diet would help, but it surely couldn't hurt to cut the sugar. Also, a diet high in whole grains can increase inflammation, so cutting that down could help him feel better.
