I think I know the answer to this already, but wanted to confirm..

If I already have contracts in just my name and then purchase a small resale with my daughter (so we are co-owners), I know they are separate membership numbers. Would I be able to make a reservation in my name using points from both contracts (i.e, have it linked) or only be able to use the number of points, separately--since my name is on each contract.

I am fairly certainly I could do one transfer per year if needed...

You could do the point transfer and have enough to do an entire reservation or you could reserve part of the vacation using points from each contract and have them link the reservations. If you do the latter you have to book entire days with points from each account. You cannot use 10 points from one and 6 from the other to book one night. The transfer would count as your one in or out for both contracts for that year. Hopefully if you linked the reservations you would not need to change rooms with the check in check out issues.

Just reserve some nights from one contract and the rest from the other and have them linked. You will not need to move and will not need to check-in a second time. The reservation will be one seamless stay. We do this all of the time using points from multiple contracts for one stay and have never had a problem.

Enjoy! :)

I agree. IF you need to combine points for that last night, you'll need to transfer. In this situation DVC will often transfer banked or borrowed points as well.

She would have to be 18 y/o or over. You could also change this deed then combine the contracts if they were the same UY. I know of two instances where an owner did this by buying directly from DVC but they bought what was then the minimum though they were able to break it up to get two 75 points contracts instead of only a single 150 pt contract (the min buy in at the time).

Thanks.

All of our contracts... the seven I have in just my name, and the one where we would be co-owners are the same Use year.

She is probably going to be moving out and is well over 18 and would no longer qualify (for AP discounts, etc.) as in my household. Of course, I know those type perks are always subject to discontinuation anyway. But this would get her started as a member and later I may decide to transfer more of my contracts to her.
