Hi, just wondering how long the process of signing the contract was for everyone else. I mean as far as communication with wedding sales, etc.

Hi, just wondering how long the process of signing the contract was for everyone else. I mean as far as communication with wedding sales, etc.

We got married in 2012 so our process started in 2011 - while some things may be different I know the sales consultant we worked with is still with DFTW, so it should be close. We contacted DFTW in September 2011, shortly after getting engaged. We wanted November 2, 2012 as our date. When I called, I left my information and was told a sales consultant would contact me within 3 days, which she did. I gave her our too choices for date/time/location, and our first choice was available, so she "pencilled us in" for that date.

We also set up a site visit for the following week when we would be in WDW on vacation and met with our consultant face to face (while we talked to a woman originally, our consultant we worked through during the process was the one who did our site visit). We discussed our overall vision, options, and the proposed event that he had drawn up based on the information I had provided already.

After the site visit, we got the room block worksheet about 2 weeks from our 1 year mark, and filled it out and sent it back within a few days. Exactly on our 1 year mark we got our contract. We had 11 days to sign it before our venues would be released to be booked by other groups. We faxed it back along with a cc authorization for the deposit, and about a week later we got assigned a planner.

We had a wishes wedding - the timing would be different for other event types. We also did not have to do a lottery for our date and venues.

We didn't have a ton of communication with our consultant but he always responded when I had questions. As far as our planner, we communicated with her assistant mostly through to the planning session and then with her directly after the planning session.
