WE SENT OUT THE CONTRACT!!!!

I am so excited! We sent it in last week, but my computer was downa nd couldn't share the excitement here. I called on Tuesday to make sure they got it and Bill our sales guy - who I wish was our planner - says I haven't recieved it yet! Even though it was guaranteed to arrive on MONDAY!!! So he checks downstairs in his inbox and lo and behold there it was. So he said he was going to process it and that we should have a call by our new wedding planner on Friday---well it is Sunday and no word. I guess they will call next week.

What happens now? Will the big packet that everyone talks about come in the mail?

Also, you know how we had to pick the place that we are staying on the wedding night, well we picked AKL and they said on the contract that we will be in the Kilamanjaro Club level, concierge (which I have never in my life been on). Has anyone stayed there on their wedding night and can share what the room looked like. I can't get a description from anyone! And because of the big bucks to stay there after the "free" night we will most likely be switching to a standard room for the rest of the week. Do you think they would just upgrade us and let us stay-or does that not happen?

Thanks for the input!

Congratulations on getting your contract out!!! Woohoo!! I can't answer any of your questions but wanted to share in your excitement!

We just sent our room block information to Bill...isn't he the sweetest guy? Hopefully I'll be in your position next week!!

GL with your planning!

First off Congrats. I am only a few steps in front of you with my FTW planning. After they process your contract, they pass it on to where you will get your planner assigned. It took about 1 week for Disney to call me to tell me who my planner was. Actually it was the planners assistant. She told me that she would be sending me the planning kit via email, and opening up more options in the wish book. The kit is food and beverage lists, recommended vendors for stylists officiants etc., and a form to fill out of what you would like for the wedding. I am not sure if this form is for me to turn in closer to the wedding or if this is a starting off point for the planning session. :confused3 I will also be expecting a cake and floral cd in the mail. I will admit I was a little disappointed in the planning kit. I was expecting so much more.

As for the AKL question, I have no clue. I know some people have gotten to stay at upgraded rooms, but not all. Are you planning on staying at AKL the entire time, or is it just for the one night? They might let you stay in the room the rest of the time if you are staying there.

Hey Cuz!
I just wanted to jump for joy with you since the closer your wedding gets the closer my vacation gets! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

After I mailed in my contract, I got a call from my planners assistant letting me know they got the paperwork. I then waited about 2 weeks and they mailed me a HUGE packet of paperwork. Included was a 15 page survey that I was instructed to fill out and return so when I have my planning session they can answer any and all questions I would have and be ready to best assist me in the Details session. There was also a couple CDs of vendors so I can see the vendors work (photographer, videographer ect) With a list of their preferred vendors. They also sent a wide array of menus to pick and choose from. Along with all the paper work, I got a Disney Fairy tale wedding Pin to go on my laynard, two writing pens with the mickey silhouette One black one white, the white one is wearing a veil. The last thing was a Rough draft of the Save the Date that they send out for you to check name spelling and address correctness.

What to do next? Fill out the form and send it back to them. Also they should be sending you an email for your information on your guest list. So get your guest list (with addresses) ready if it isn't already.

As far as the concierge upgrade for the whole stay, it does happen sometimes, but by no means does it happen regularly. It's just luck of the draw based on what's available when you check in and how generous the CM checking you in is and if they think to look.... it's not something to count on at all.

I already emailed the guest list to the first guy. AND I already approved the save-the-dates! How come everyone seems to be in different orders here? Isn't that weird!?

In response, the question above about the room, I will be staying at AKL the rest of the week and hopefully they will let us stay in the room!
