Continuing fallout from FP+ cost overruns

OK, this just out from Disney runs counter to what was posted by Al Lutz:

I'm not afraid to say it looks like he was wrong.

Thanks for the new information.

Two separate things, not related to each other at all.

I think this is a false rumor. Mostly because James Cameron is involved. If they agreed to make X amount of attractions then they would be obligated to make them.

You do realize that Al is not always negative. That same article he gushed openly about the hiring of Mary Niven to I think it was VP of Disneyland and how great a hire it was. Also talked about how TDA is aggressively tackling the parking problem they have out there.

Those things are in reference to Disneyland. Al appears to hate WDW.

Bloggers are rarely a good source of correct and balanced information...........Take is all with a grain of salt.

If they didn't post something wild and off the wall, no one would end them or bother to spread their names.

The $2B (or whatever the actual cost is) isn't JUST for FP+. It's for the entire MM+ system, which, if I understand correctly, includes some things we haven't even seen come to fruition yet. I'll believe Avatarland is scaled back when I actually see it.

Since it seems he was wrong you should change the title of this thread????

How do we know that he was wrong? The other attraction has nothing to do with Avatarland.

People can argue all they want to as to whether certain things will happen but Disney won't talk so all we can do is wait. I'm just relieved that the dwarves attraction will open within this decade. ;)

Wait, it seems like I was wrong as others have pointed out. A new night time show at AK that is similar to World of Color (and in a location completely opposite Avatarland) has no bearing on the downgraded Avatarland project rumor. My mistake.

I should add that the projection/water show was part of the original announcement about AK operating hours expansion.

And not that God-awful paint scheme they just did in FW. Have you seen that? What the hell were they thinking??:crazy2:

Would love to see photos. Have a link? We are some of those WDW guests who think Epcot needs help. (especially with aesthetics and attractions). They pretty much have the food nailed down though. :)

Phew! I'm just glad that the plan to make AK a nighttime parks is still officially going forward. I *do* hope that they still have the "boat ride" for Avatar. I'm much more excited about that than the simulator ride.
