So is it normal for continental to raise its fares 50 bucks even though jet blue is holding steady? Last week they were the same - any hope of Continental dropping again? Should I just book? (Oct 09)
:confused3

Look at how full the plane is for those flights. If they are pretty full that may be why they raised the price. If they are empty you can take a gamble and see if it goes back down.

We are one pass members but usually use Jet Blue out of EWR when we can. Jet Blue was actually more expensive for a while, but then evened out when we booked.

Did all the flights go up, or just the one you want to book? My guess its the latter and the flight sold out of its most inexpensive seats and now are selling the next higher bucket.

I checked the seating - seems to be plenty available... and base fare went up across the board...not just what I wanted...Checked today and 100 buck difference $558 for 2 persons RT Continental - $458 Jet Blue....same time frame...wonder why they'd do this given the availability...???

When are you going???

Do you have time to see if prices go down again?

CO does that all the time; you'll find the best rates a little over 6 weeks out, usually.

Aitran just left Newark, so perhaps they bumped up prices for that. JB is more competitive at this point, but until they place their frequent flyer program update out there, I'll keep to CO.

I'm currently pricing my December trip, but their websit ehas been down for the last 2 days! :scared1:
