Continental credit?????

My parents bought me a ticket to NYC but I can't go. So I have xx amount of money to use within the next year. Since the money is in my name is it just good for me or can I book 2 tickets with the credit? I figured I would ask here first before I call and sound completely clueless.

The credit can be used by anyone, but it can only be used towards the purchase of 1 ticket (thats what CO allowed me to do).
