Any suggestions on the Contemporary wings or Port Orleans Resorts? I can't decide on being close to monorail or staying in the pretty surroundings at POR. Thanks for any help:D

How many in your party?

I'm honeymooning at the World in January, and since it's just me and my fiance (well, then husband) I chose POR. It seems way more romantic to me than Contemporary. If you're a family with kids I'd choose the Contemporary though, because of Chef Mickeys.

I have stayed at both resorts and without hesitation would chose the Contemporary. I know I am in the minority but I did not like POR at all. The Contemporary is classic Disney and the location can not be beat!

Just returned from the South wing (garden view room) and loved the location. Very convenient. The room was huge and we loved the Jetsons decor! However, I would recommend a little refurbishing. Both bedspreads had several stains, as did two of the pillowcases, and the rugs were spotted. We also had some red ants, but being on the ground floor what can you expect? Better than an armandillo!

I have stayed at both and the CR is by far way better. The rooms are almost twice the size and it is a close walk to the monorail or bus stop. POR is nice but the walk to any bus stop is long. You only have to ride a bus to AK and MGM at CR, you ride the monorail to MK and Epcot. Whereas, POR you have to ride a bus to every park. It costs a little more to stay at CR but is well worth it.

If you love MK and/or have kids on the trip, I would go for the CR North Wing if possible as you will be within a 10 minute walk to the MK

Having said that if it was just DW and I with those choices, I would go POR Alligator Bayou to have some isolation, peace and quiet

thanks

My thoughts exactly! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Both have advantages. POR has nicer grounds and the boat to DTD is nice and relaxing. Thr CR has superior restaraunts and shopping and the rooms are larger.
Maybe you should try splitting your stay, packing is a bit of a pain but moving between resorts is quite easy. Plan your MK and EPCOT activities while at CR; AKL, MGM and DTD while at POR.

Thanks for all the info. We will be traveling with 2 teenagers but I am the kid at heart!! I am leaning more towards Contemporary after reading the posts. I need to make a decision soon. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!!!!:D
