Can't decide what to do, so just wondering others thoughts on the situation. Going to do a split stay between AOA and one of the 2 mentioned. Wanted to just stay at CR garden view, but no availability (MLK week). Came across the TPV, and it looks intriguing.

Poly standard view is 100/night cheaper. Going to most likely do 3 nights at one of the 2 (maybe 2), so is it worth it to just see the fireworks? I've also read that view from the Poly beach is great, so we could just walk there in the evening to see them. I'm sure we won't be spending all that much time in the room, but the thought of the castle/Wishes seems great.

Had my heart set on CR because stayed there when I was younger. now thinking of just staying at Poly and saving the few hundred dollars (in the grand scheme the few hundred doesn't matter I guess when we're talking a few thousand for the trip) and going to see the fireworks at the beach.

Will also have my 6 year old nephew with us, so is either one better for a kid that age (he loves to swim, so is one of the pools better?)?

I loved the POLY!!!!! YOu can see them from the beach but what about CL? YOu can see them right from the lounge and see the castle and everything.. it was magical:) Never stayed a GF... just not our taste:)

Have never stayed at the CR, but we love the Poly :goodvibes. The Poly beach is great for watching the fireworks, the pool is nice as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle while swimming, and the tropical atmosphere is so relaxing :cloud9:. With that said, my choice would be the Poly, but I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which one you choose. Good luck :wizard:.

Agreed! I just can't help I overanalyze vacations all the time. :confused3 Maybe I just want it to be perfect, but I do know that no matter what we'll be pleased and have a great time.

Does your nephew like trains? Would he think a monorail running through the building is neat? :)

Tough choice but a good problem to have! I would go CR TPV. I think the combo of being able to walk to MK, plus seeing the fireworks from your room, would be worth it, as long as the extra money isn't going to be too much of a border.

Either way I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Several years ago we did a split stay of Poly GV and CR TPV. The first half of the week we were at the Poly and it was sooooo wonderful :cloud9: lush tropical vacation type feel, the beach was so great, the whole place just felt like paradise. Then we switched over to our CR TPV room. I was so depressed being there... it just felt cold and concrete, like I was in an airport hotel. :( The view of the castle and wishes was beautiful at night, that is very true, but for me the surroundings of the resort itself just don't appeal to me. I wanted to feel like I was on vacation and I didn't feel that way. Now my youngest son was about 7 years old at the time and he LOVED IT! He was so excited about the view of the park and the monorail he was in heaven. Still to this day he begs to go back there. :thumbsup2 So I think it really boils down to personal preference and what makes you happy. I'm glad I did it one time, but I know that was enough for me. Some people absolutely love it there. You'll just have to go with what your heart tell you. :)

Contemporary Theme park view is gorgeous from the tower. The walk to the Magic Kingdom is so convenient. We have stayed at both the Poly standard view and the Contemporary theme park view and we prefer the view at the Contemporary, kids can be in their PJ's and watch the fireworks and water parade from the balcony or on the bed. Very neat! That said Hubby and I, our son and our daughter and her husband and our 3 Grandchildren are staying 2 rooms Poly standard view this fall. Paying for 2 rooms is a lot of money for us and I know we will be happy at the Poly too. Both resorts are lovely in a differnt kind of way. Happy choosing!

We've done both and I strongly prefer the Poly. We also have a 6 yr old and her favorite pool on property in the volcano pool (and we've stayed at YC so she got to experience Stormalong Bay!).

We have done the TPV at the CR and a lagoon view at Poly (could actually see the castle from part of our balcony, but a palm tree blocked part of the view, so it was technically a lagoon view). The TPV at CR was our favorite by far! I know a lot of people have had fabulous experiences at the Poly, but ours was not good. I know it is undergoing refurbishment now, but unless they are replacing all the a/c units, the problem we encountered will not be fixed. On the other hand, the CR was amazing! The room was sleek and modern, and the view from the balcony was awesome. Every time we walked outside and saw the castle, it took our breath away:) We loved being able to walk to the MK. I also liked that we were in the main building at the CR, super close to the monorail and restaurants. It felt like at the Poly we were forever away from the main building. While the grounds are very pretty and it wasn't a bad walk, it was annoying to have to make the trip every time we wanted to refill our resort mugs or get a snack. Just my thoughts:) I hope you have a wonderful trip!
