Contemporary "sundry" market/shop: What sort of booze do they sell?

I've seen photos of the Contemporary sundry shop that shows a few fridges stocked with a few brands of beer, wine, and champagne. But do they also sell liquor?

I'm curious as to what sort of selection they have (types, brands, and sizes) of liquor if they do actually sell any.

Anyone?

Here is a copy of a pic from a POR website for the selection at the Fulton's General Store; I am sure the resorts are all about the same.

I got a pint of Captain Morgan and it was $21.00.

I would use it sparingly.

Got it, thanks.

I would assume that the stores at DVC resorts would have a more expansive selection. Does anyone know if that's the case?

In my experience the selection at the Fantasia Market in the Contemporary is no different then the same type of stores they have at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

While the CR is not a DVC resort, it shares facilities (and stores) with one - Bay Lake Tower.

At DVC resorts, you'll typically find one store with a slightly expanded selection of food items, since some guests will cook in their villas. Things like eggs, microwave meals, that sort of thing.

I've never noticed a larger selection of beer, wine or liquor at a DVC resort.

Regardless of how Disney classifies it, I don't view the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower as separate resorts. It's a single deluxe resort with a DVC wing for all practical purposes (especially true given the shared facilities, most notably the store in this case).

And I realize BLT guests have use privileges on both "properties" while the same is not true of Contemporary guests.

I've never noticed a larger selection of beer, wine or liquor at a DVC resort.

Thank you!

Does anyone know if we are talking about 375ml bottles (or similar) or something more along the lines of single serving, minibar style packages?

If liquor is of importance to you...then likely having a rental car is going to be one of your best bets so you can stop at a store. You can also take a towncar from the airport (at Last check about $60 one way +Tip) and they will often allow a quick gorcery store stop. Perhaps they would also allow a liquor store stop. The Publix grocery stores sell beer and wine; they have a nice selection. If you like premium/exotic beer, then the Whole Foods Market at I-4/Sand Lake Rd/Turkey Lake Rd has a nice selection, and is easy access from I-4.

There are grocery delivery places available, but I don't know that they can deliver beer and wine.

One more option you COULD consider if you are statying deluxe and beer/wine liquor matters: staying club level. Club level usually adds about $150 per day to the cost of yoru room, but you get breakfast, beer, wine, and evening cordials. Beer/wine is offered all afternoon, teh cordials are offered only from 8-10pm, but you can request to take beer back to yoru room (not sure about the others, I've never tried.) Also you get all day snacks/soft drinks and from 4-7 appetizers, and from 8-10pm desserts. Plus you get an extra level of service. Club level won't cover all your food costs, but maybe half of them, if you are there.

It's not exactly a money saver -but if you WOULD be drinking beer in the bar, and have more than two people per room, then club level is nice option to thin about. In a bar, you can easily pay $10 per cocktail. So if you have four adults, and you'd each have two drinks, that's over 50% of the cost of club level right there. Add $10 per person for breakfast (what you would have spent), and club level is not a bad deal.

We are staying in a 2 bedroom at BLT (cash reservation). It would be awesome if they offered club level amenities with any of the BLT rooms, as I would definitely do that. The more expansive accommodations available at a DVC property are simply too hard to pass up when compared with the regular resort suites, however.

We originally had a town car service set up for transportation, but it turns out a day trip off property in the middle of our trip has become a requirement, so we will end up with a (barely used) rental for the duration of our trip. If I'm turned off by the selection or prices at the Fantasia Market, I'll just head out on a booze run.

Thanks all!

Well they don't offer the Club Level amenities when staying at Bay Lake Tower, so to have them you need to reserve a Club Level room at the Contemporary.

If you are going to have a rental car I would ditch the buses and drive yourself every where. It is worth it. If you drive yourself you will be back at your resort room sometimes LONG BEFORE you would have even gotten a seat on the bus. There is no way I would go to Disney without a car.

Just our ONE Walmart run saved us what a car rental would have cost for the week. However we had our own car.

Since we will be at BLT, our plan is to walk to the MK, take the monorail to Epcot (for the novelty of it for the kids), and take the bus to Animal Kingdom since I've heard they open the parking lot their late and it sounds like early morning arrivals via car can be a bit of a fiasco. Driving elsewhere will definitely happen, though (Studios, DTD, etc).

And I know Club Level isn't offered at DVC properties; would be nice it it was, though.

So we have stayed at the All Stars the last 2 trips but this time we are staying in the Contemporary. On our last visits we have had Garden Grocer deliver breakfast/snacks and it was a huge time/money saver but we could never order wine. We would love to be able to unwind in the evening but the selections are not very good and much more expensive in the resorts. Does anybody know if another grocer delivers groceries/wine? Have we missed that section while ordering/

Yes they sure do! You just can't order it online, you will need to email or call them and they will pick it up!
