Hi there -

As you can tell from my screen name, Our family loves the Contemporary!!! My husband and I have fond memories from our honeymoon there, and my 3 girls prefer it to the other resorts we have stayed at as well - with the possible exception of AKL.

While the pool is not heavily landscaped, it is themed - it's a giant Hidden Mickey! Swimming late at night while watching the Electrical Water Pageant is truly magical! My girls liked the slide at this pool as well - they liked this pool much better than the AKL, although they did like the volcano slide at the Poly even more.

The arcade is wonderful - and has prizes for the little ones. The shopping on the concourse are the best resort shops around, and pin trading is so much fun!

The dining is great - you've got CG for special occasions - and the 15th floor observatory for fireworks is incredible. The Concourse Steakhouse serves wonderful food all day long - Chef Mickey's is THE archetypical character meal, and even the Food N Fun Center serves up tasty treats - my middle daughter says the fries from there are the best!

The monorail through the resort just adds to the magic! And, walking to the MK early in the morning is a great way to start the day - and after the FW - holding a sleeping child, hopping on the resort monorail (rarely a wait), and getting to your room just 3 minutes later is a godsend!

Our last trip, we weren't able to get ressies at the CR - they were totally booked with a conference, so we stayed at the Poly concierge. While the Poly was lovely, and the service was great - it just wasn't home, like the CR is! It IS Mickey's HOuse!

Hi--
We are headed to the Contemporary on 3/30-4/3 --our first stay there. What is the this electrical water parade that you saw from the pool? I haven't heard of that yet? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks:D

The EWP is a cute little thing they do on the lake and lagoon for the Magic Kingdom area resorts. It is a bunch of lit up barges that sail through to music that is piped out on the beaches. I think it starts at the Polynesian at 9, then goes to the Grand Floridian, stopping at the MK if it is still open, then off to Ft. Wilderness, and Wilderness Lodge, ending at the Contemporary at 10 pm. They have done this for many, many years, and I just love it!

It reminds me a little of the music from the old Electric Light Parade they had before Spectromagic.
