~Contemporary Photo ONLY Thread~

Now that I have a little more time and figured out how to do this, here's a few more pics from my Sept 2007 trip.

These first two are from the Magic Express bus as we were arriving. Sorry for all the splattered bugs on the first one :stir:

This next one I like, even though it's an accident. It looks hazy, even though it was a clear morning. Thats because I was on the walkway to the MK, and the lens on my camera had fogged up after walking out of the AC in the resort ::yes::

This last one was taken from my balcony on the 9th floor.

Great photos Skifast22!!!!! I really like the last one in the first batch!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Great photos, skifast! Thanks for sharing the one of the first sighting of the CR upon arrival -- even through the bug-spattered windshield, it's always a thrill to first lay eyes on it. I know what you mean about the foggy lens on your third photo. I've had that happen soooooooo many times. Great photo, though, well composed:thumbsup2. Just shows the humidity, right?:goodvibes

I have tried to book a tower room at the Contemporary for the last two years. I start trying about 11 months in advance. I usually go the first week in December. There have been no rooms available during that time. I was looking at a Garden Wing room for 2 for 1 week including park hopper tickets and the price was over $7,000.00.!!!!!!! What is up with that? How can the average person afford that? I really wouldn't want a Garden wing room, the Tower rooms are the best with the view of the Magic Kingdom. I wonder how I will ever be able to stay there again??? I love the Grand Floridan but the Contemporary IS Disney World to me!!

I got a convention rate that was cheaper than two rooms at POP, and I got upgraded to the MK view because conventioneers are just put wherever they choose. I would never do it at rack rate.

What type of camera & zoom did you use for the zoom of the Castle & SM? Those are great! Any tips on getting good firework photos from the MK view room?

I have the Canon Rebel XT and used a Sigma 70/300 zoom lens. Honestly, I really don't now how to use either of them really well. For the fireworks, I just kept taking pictures and hoped one or two of them looked good. :rotfl2: One of these days I actually have to watch the fireworks, I might enjoy them. ;)

I know there are fireworks tutorials out there that I keep meaning to learn. Hmmm...maybe that's my excuse for another trip. ::yes::

michygoomy, I love your Carl Hiaasen quote! I know he is a Disney-hater, but I think his books are hilarious :rotfl:

I have a few more.

Progress on the, ahem, parking garage they are building next door.

They day bed. The kids seemed to like it OK, but for some strange reason it didn't have a top sheet the day I tried it. :confused3 It looks like it does in this pic.

More views from the balcony. I highly suggesting bringing a zoom lens.

The convention center. My conference was there and it was nice--and exactly like every other convention center I've been in, except you'd turn a corner and see Space Mountain. That was weird. :lmao:

More shots of the balcony. Just fine size for a pizza dinner before Mom and Dad go out.

The nice crow waiting for leftovers.

The Walkway to the Magic Kingdom. It's not much further to the Contemporary than it is to the bus stop for POP. ;)

You can also see the fireworks from the bus stop. Cool!

Oooh, I love that last one!

OK, this should be it. I knew I had pics of The Wave and just couldn't find them. Not surprising since I took 1,500 pictures.

The entrance is pretty neat looking in person!

Looking at those pictures of The Wave it's weird knowing that use to be the location of the Food & Fun Center and the old arcade.
