~Contemporary Photo ONLY Thread~

Now that would be something to see. I rememeber that place being huge, though I was a lot smaller back then. All the games were a quarter and you could play for hours on half a roll of quarters. I remember playing air hockey there with my sister . . . Was there a little theater off to the right that showed cartoons, or amy I just totally making stuff up now?

No, BostonRob, you're not making anything up! There was a theater down there before the Food & Fun Center was there. They showed the old Disney classics for a $1 admission. It was probably the late '70's or early '80's that we went to the theater and there was nothing else down there.

I remember so clearly that DH bought a big tub of popcorn for the movie.popcorn::

It was still there as late as 1993, I believe. Pretty sure it showed kids' movies at night.

last May there was still a Giant television off to the right with a bunch of small chairs. I watched an ancient Pluto cartoon with my daughter when we checked in.

I believe that was moved to another part of the lobby, so it should still be there.

If you mean the TV area for the kids that every resort has near the registration desks, here's a photo that shows CR's off to the left. It's where the Contemporary Grounds used to be (at the left of the photo, you can see the TV screen but the seating area is too dark to see much). The seating in the foreground is across from the registration desks.

Does anyone have a picture of the construction of the new counter service that is suppose to be opening in August at the CR? Any updates on when it is opening...I hope it is before 08/15 :)

It has been posted on here that the want it to open on August 14, so hopefully that will happen. Besides that here is a link to Densie's (nbodyhome) site that has pictures of the Concouse Steakhouse all boarded up. http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=203&Itemid=65

Thanks...I have been waiting for a picture of The Concourse closed...hopefully the counter service restaurant will be open for my upcoming trip ;)

You're welcome and I am also hopping it will be open when my family and I are there this August. However if it's not then it won't be a big deal and I won't let it effect our stay at the Contemporary.

Thanks for all of the great pics!! We are going again in Sept. and staying at the Poly (our fav!) but ds #1 is OBSESSED with CR, so I splurged and booked our last night at the World in a 1 bedroom suite, 14th floor concierge, MK view.

No one is really excited about staying there except him, but these pics have certainly changed my mind :thumbsup2 I think that the view will change the rest of the family.

Does anyone have any pics of the 1 bedroom suite, mk view, 14th floor? I would love to see it :woohoo:

Thanks!
